4:00 The problem is that Soyuz's father's statue is missing part of its face (probably broken by Ibara). Senku already explained it; the outer parts of statues rot faster when exposed to the environment. That's why when they're depetrified after many years, the outer layer of the statue falls off because it's already decayed and can't revert to living cells. This is unlike a short petrification of a few days, which reverts everything, even the outer part, back to living cells. Soyuz's father has been petrified for 20 years, but part of his skull is exposed. Even if they found the missing piece of his face and placed it back, when revived, he would literally have the inside of his skull rotten

The reason they didn't unpetrify Soyuz's dad was because he was missing pieces. Half of his face was missing after they put all the pieces together, PLUS the chunks that they had were already a little weathered. Matsukaze (the one who destroyed the other petrification devices) was only missing an arm so the healing factor was enough to heal that, even though it was kinda weathered.

I think the thing with the fireworks is some kind of foreshadowing. Something that can cause destruction can be used for joy and good things. In hindsight, we've seen that with a lot of things here actually. Innovations and key things having drastically different uses and intentions. Batteries and electricity, gunpowder (fireworks and, duh, guns), dynamite (a mining tool and weapons of war), alcohol (the petrification fluid, medicine, drinking, etc.), the cotton candy machine (they used it to make wire), oil (fuel, roads, etc.), the phone (having uses in both war-time and times of peace), the sulfuric acid (they used it to make medicine), money (for better or worse, it's used to help motivate people), etc., just about everything they made has had multiple purposes. Most recently, the Medusa (both as a weapon and as a miracle healing device). I wonder if that'll come up later with the true identity and intentions of Why-Man.

One little correction or rather an addition, in the show they've used money to motivate the people from the old world yes, but in the real world the application is way much more than that. Currency is one of the inventions that revolutionzed the world and made possible every single piece of tech we have in the modern world. There really is no "for worse" or downside to it, human greed manifests in very different ways, not to mention money isn't just money, it's power, and people hunger for power.

My running theory for the villain behind the Petrification is that it was the same person at the start. Here is my idea. They were on the moon when everyone turned to stone so they could avoid it. Maybe they turned themselves to stone on the moon with a machine that would pour on the rival fluid on them after a certain amount of time. It's possible they've been periodically checking to see the state of the world after a certain amount of years. Whoever made the tech to turn people into stone must know how to cure it. Hence my idea.

The animation in the first 2 seasons are rough, probably the only reason the show isn't as popular considering how damn good it is. But if they can, it'd be a fun watch, shit is a roller coaster.

I have a very minor spoiler for you, it only gets roughly 2 pages in the manga roughly 50 chapters from now. So the anime might devote 5 min to it roughly 25 episodes from now. If you don't want to read it I fully understand but it has practically no effect on the story. [Spoiler Below] Soyuz puts a baby in Amaryllis

Unfortunately the whole manga may not be adapted. The 4th season is being advertised as the final season, likely because of... spoilers The guns in the America arc. Same thing happened to Promised Neverland, the second all the kids got strapped with guns in the Hunting Grounds arc they skipped that and several others arcs after Further spoilers Just my prediction, but we likely aren't getting the America arc, South America arc, or the bits that come after. I don't know how they plan to finish of the story, but it wont be as good. We might not even see some characters like Xeno, Chelsea, or Ryusui's brother
