I just wanted to validate everything you said in this video because I know there's people that think these videos don't portray correct information. I've been in hand therapy for 3 months. I have tendonitis in both thumbs from crocheting. My hand therapist told me exactly what you said, and doing in the order you said. If the exercise hurts, back down and rest/ice for several days. I am finally to the hand/thumb/wrist exercise part of this healing journey. Its definitely a marathon and not a sprint. I injured these in March 2024, started PT in June 2024 with ultrasound only. Now in Sept the exercises. Thank you so much for the helpful video as a reference as I forgot one of the steps my therapist told me.

I'm in and feeling optimistic . I'm a guitar player and need to develop an ergonomic strategy for better hand placement. There are yoga moves I'm just not going to be doing.. This has been going on too long.

Such a good idea! Sometimes you do have to prioritize, what is more important at this moment, and what things can be modified to help you heal?

I like your videos , I have had Dequervains tenosynovitis many times and it always get better, however there must be a weak spot there because it flares up all the time and causes me problems. Are there any strengthening exercises you can recommend that would prevent this happening constantly? Ann from Ottawa

I do think sometimes strength can be the underlying issue, however I’d also look at your posture and wrist positioning with activity - check to see the wrist is staying straight when you do things! But I do like wrist isometric strengthening, oftentimes.

@evelynbailey9396 it is very tough to get better, especially for new parents. Have you worked with a PT or OT at all? They might be helpful on working through the activity modification and ergonomics for parents that can be majorly helpful!

I've had release surgery on both wrists. I still struggle with pain and inflammation.
