@Marco-yj2tl
@Marco-yj2tl 3 жыл бұрын
@@RedRumble14 it actually did bother again. I got checked by another specialist to see if my cruciate tendons were ok and if this was caused by a hip malposition. Everything was ok, I did 2 knee injections of HYMOVIS, followed by structural training, balance training, strengthening of the leg muscles, and got a spinner bike doing 20km per day. (Everything at home) After that, taping (I use Rocktape) where it bothered, started running again, slowly and short distances. After 2 months now I run 5days a week, around 11km at a good 6m per km. Do twice a week some balance training and some decompression. Still a lot of work to do, but it looks good (no pain). I wish you a good recovery

I wish I knew why I receive a sharp pain in the back/outside of my left knee, and only happens at a certain 15-20 degree radius .. I know I did it surfing , putting all weight on left leg then bending/collapsing leg to jump down into surfboard to grab it. Thing is I did it 6 months ago and it only got really painful in last few weeks. I’m hoping stopping surfing and skateboarding for a few weeks and limiting exercise to only walking a couple miles a day will let it heal? Thanks guys for any feedback and advice. Merry Christmas 🎄

Question, I broke my femur right above the knee; comminuted fracture. I am 7 months into recovery and still have ROM issues. I recently read about popliteus muscle being a potential problem. In fact I have tenderness on the inner aspect of my leg right below the knee. Is it possible that is my issue. The physical therapist was asking if the Dr. Mentioned bone lock. How do I help this muscle if it is the problem?

I sorta did the same thing but instead of walking all those steps I intensely trained my calves for two minutes straight, now it hurts all the way from the back of my knee to the inner calf muscles which is preventing me to walk properly. I'm not sure if this is exactly what you got but if it is or is close to being it then I would like to know how it went. Also I trained them like 2 or 3 days ago.

Could this muscle be the cause of Patellofemoral Syndrome?!
@christinaclark5411
@christinaclark5411 6 жыл бұрын
Patellofemoral syndrome affects the joint made by the patella (knee cap) and the femur usually resulting in anterior knee pain around the patella. Tight quadriceps, poor alignment, poor biomechanics of the hip, knee, and ankle are usually to blame. I have not seen nor heard of the popliteus affecting the patellofemoral joint (I worked as a physical therapist assistant for 5 years).
@rabinrai5203
@rabinrai5203 6 жыл бұрын
good question, cos i also have patellafemoral syndrome and looks like i just found out the cause of my lateral back knee pain, popliteus muscle tightness. its been 8 months of knee injury. working on building my vastus medialis muscle with EMS (electric muscle stimulation) and physio exercises. still a journey left to full recovery. injuries can be quite mentally challenging.. how do i do this stretch on my own? i dont have someone to help me massage the back of my knee.
@christinaclark5411
@christinaclark5411 3 жыл бұрын
@ghost-x I’d recommend seeing a physical therapist who is good with sports medicine to evaluate your knee and gait. Sometimes it’s obvious why someone has patellofemoral syndrome (poor knee alignment), and sometimes it’s not so obvious. You will have to do a lot of exercises at home to improve your symptoms and it will take a long time, but if you’re patient, it should pay off. You can google a few videos to try yourself, but you’ll need to be diligent in doing them regularly. Hope this helps and good luck!
@christinaclark5411
@christinaclark5411 3 жыл бұрын
@ghost-x Soft tissue injuries take at least 6 weeks. Bone 8 weeks. Patellofemoral isn’t an “injury” issue per say. It’s usually a misalignment or muscle imbalance and will most likely take concentrated effort to improve symptoms, then just a couple to maintain strength. You might need orthotics or something else to help your alignment. Depends on cause.

Did he just say popliteus helps in locking the knee?
@NinaSelene
@NinaSelene 3 жыл бұрын
He did. I don't know anything about this, but it makes sense, I got it strained from standing for too long locking the knee
@BB-rp4gc
@BB-rp4gc 3 жыл бұрын
It actually “unlocks” the knee as it is a knee flexor and internal rotator of the tibia. Only the quad muscle group has the ability to “lock” the knee into extension. Just be careful to avoid the popliteal artery when doing this technique.
