What kind of worms were creating those worm castings?? Should I be concerned and lay a bug application. I get those casting also. Thanks!
@LawnInsider2 жыл бұрын
Just regular earthworms. Nothing to worry about, they’re actually a sign of good soil health, but you don’t want to mow over them if you’re using a reel.

Can you apply even if you don’t see an area dry? Would it hurt the lawn?
@LawnInsider2 жыл бұрын
You sure can. I just applied last week as a precautionary measure in anticipation of a hot/dry summer.

@@LawnInsider awesome, where can I buy online or do box store carry? Thanks
@LawnInsider2 жыл бұрын
@@josej-h1471 i believe there should be links in the description box, if not you can find it on Amazon and Yard Mastery online. Some local feed stores probably carry it as well.

Do you still use this? I’m curious if it will prevent my dry spots. I have an irrigation system but still get some dry spots

I’m definitely still going to use it. Might try out the granular version this year.

I have yellow/white tips on my bermuda blades as well, any idea what's causing it?
@LawnInsider3 жыл бұрын
The white you see are just the areas of the blades that have been cut and are actively trying to repair themselves. Typically if they’re really frayed you need to sharpen your blades. If you’re getting a fairly clean cut I wouldn’t worry about it. If you’re getting bronzing from a product, like PGR for instance, try adding some liquid iron in with your application to counteract the yellowing effect.

i put pgf complete down last week before we got those storms and my lawn turned into a darker green too! now i'm getting ready to put down stress blend and pre-emergent. i have the gallon hydretain but not quite sure how to use it, can post a video on that?
@stevanvelazquez20433 жыл бұрын
Not trying to be a smart ass but the label has pretty clear and concise directions on how to apply.
@LawnInsider3 жыл бұрын
Hey Renee! That dark green is awesome! I might make a video next season on the gallon application. You’ll need some sort of pump/backpack sprayer and a good irrigation/sprinkler setup! Also has to be watered in! Thanks for watching!

Hi Rhett, I'm looking at your grass calendar and it looks like it's pre-emergent time. I use barricade by The Andersons but was wondering what's your pre-emergent of choice (and when will you be applying some to your lawn), thanks!
@LawnInsider3 жыл бұрын
I’ve used Barricade in the past, but now I use Prodiamine 65 WDG. It’s a liquid application. Just more cost effective.

Great content! You’re videos have helped my lawn a lot. When is your last app of fert for the season? When does the Bermuda go dormant? I’m in Austin.
@LawnInsider3 жыл бұрын
It just depends on the weather, but last year my lawn never went fully dormant until the huge winter storm in February… so possibly never.
@TrentDecker3 жыл бұрын
Good channel and great information. Keep up the helpful content! I found it interesting that you commented that your fertilizer was definitely watered in after receiving 8 inches of rain. I understood that 1/2" - 2" of rain would help water in fertilizer, but excessive rain (>2") would wash it away. I have timed my applications to try to avoid large rain events and use my irrigation to water it in. What are your thoughts on this?
@LawnInsider3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Trent! The reason I made the comment was because I had already watered the fertilizer in with my irrigation system (around 1”). Then a couple of days later all the rain hit. So I felt comfortable that the fertilizer had already worked it’s way into the canopy for the most part. So to make a long story short, I wouldn’t fertilize if you were immediately expecting 3+ inches of rain, but if you’re able to water it in first, or have a lighter rain first, you don’t have to worry about being washed out. Hope that makes sense!
