A mouth guard helped me bring down my tinnitus from an 8 to a 1.I can barely even notice it now.I went to a tmj specialst and got an appliance made for my mouth and i wear it every night. Also the way i sit triggers it also i think die to my smc muscle on my neck.I was grinding my teeth alot and clenching my jaw and that was the cause of my tinnitus.i pray this helps some of you. The noise was caused my my jaw so you may neeed to see a TMJ specialst. My ent was useless and sent me to a psychologist so please be sure to try it out.

music and sounds have helped me the most. I spike every 2 to 3 days and I use a device I can afford (Musicozy headband). I do have medication to sleep because I'll just lie there and overthink, which is quite normal for me even before the tinnitus. It takes quite a bit of work Mine was brought on with the death of my 30 yr old son, a move, extreme stress at work and lack of income. Hot showers help me a lot if I wake up in a spike. Although it doesn't go away it brings the sound down. If I have to I'll take a few showers a day. Hope this helps someone. I'm 75 years old.

I’ve had different onsets of bothersome T over the years (triggered by stress or loud sounds) and after a while they always reduced to a 1 out of 10. Time is your best friend with this condition.

My tinnitus is about an 8… I don’t notice it now after 4 years during the day or night unless I want to hear it. . I sleep well. My mind seems to have bypassed the sound without any sound machine etc. I just got on with my life… I am in the country and the air is silent but I have noticed that silence is actually loud. I can hear the silence through my tinnitus which surprised me…..but I will take it. I have been to several doctors and hearing specialists…They just say it’s my age.. but I got it within a week of taking a drug. It never disappeared when they had to take me off of it for a number of other reasons. They don’t care about what Treble Health says.

I'm not 8 all the time. But when I hear it, it has little effect on me. I find concentrating on other things makes it go away or it goes un noticed. Sleep is no problem, even when perceived as loud.

@@smarttechinchvac8829 You are right,..I think it’s because the worry is gone…tinnitus is just there and the brain is used to the noise and moves on to other things.

Mine will decide if it’s a good day or a bad day within the first hour after I wake up. When it’s a bad day it will stay that way until the next day no matter what I do. When it’s a good day it will stay that way no matter what I do. Sometimes I get as many as 8 good days in a row, but often only one or two. Sleep seems to be related to it, but it doesn’t correlate with anything I can figure out. I sleep well thanks to using sleep earbuds.

My experience is the same. I either wake up with tinnitus or I don't. I find loud noises don't trigger it at all. Its the act of sleeping. Something triggers while I'm sleeping to set it off.

I had a low level tinnitus for decades but in the past 3-4 years the level has increased significantly. I suspect the Covid vaccine had something to do with the increase. I don’t know what my level is but the volume of pink noise needs to be at about 75% on my iPad to reach the level of tinnitus I experience. I’ve been lucky to be of the mindset that tinnitus can’t hurt me and seem to be managing. I do realize I need to begin to plan next steps as it becomes more distracting.

@ surprisingly you can move to different parts of your body. It’s different than not focusing on noise, because that’s a form of resistance. Begin with the the breath, follow that. 4 seconds in hold 2 seconds exhale 8 seconds hold 2….and so on. Eventually just quit counting. While you do this go through different parts of you body imagining releasing energy. When inhaling you will feel energy buildup when exhaling you feel energy release, It’s that simple. Go on line and find a meditation teacher that’s good for you,
