Tree Warning Signs

We check out some warning signs for dangerous trees and how you can prevent future problems with early care and maintenance.

Much of the storm damage here after Hurricane Irene last summer could have been prevented by proper tree selection and pruning. The majority of split or damaged trees were Red/Silver Maple and Bradford Pears. Hickories and Willow Oak seemed to be the sturdiest with pretty close to 0% loss. Interesting about the Sapsuckers...they are killing a 60 foot Atlas Cedar that dominates the yard at one of my clients home. Not really sure what to do about it. They drilled holes as high as I can see.

Yes sap suckers are a big problem I lost a large atlas cedar to the little bastards
