I farm vegetables. This is 100% correct. We typically get transplant shock in the height of the season from just trying to plant fast. We damage the roots, but the crops bounce back in a week or two.

I planted a Kousa dogwood ('Scarlet Fire') sapling in March 2022. It leafed out just fine last year, but this year, no leaves, except for a few near the graft union at the bottom of the trunk. The tree still seems alive since the branches are pliable and the flesh is white underneath the cambium. I have used an organic liquid fertilizer, Tree Secret from Dr. JimZ, several times since I planted it. I'm hoping I can save the dogwood. You have a great channel!! 👍

I live in Northeast Ohio. I bought 3 Cherokee chief dogwoods. They were pot grown. One of them I planted seems to always wilt. One has discolored leaves and one is happy in the Northeast side of my house (of course.) The wilty one has only been planted for a few weeks. Leaves are normal color. I probably screwed with the roots too much trying to spread them outwards because I saw how some roots will swirl around and choke a tree at the base. There was nothing swirling around the base of the trunk so I was just being too hypervigilant. I added granulated soil acidifier when planted. I think it will be ok. It is planted in full sun, but I didn't have a choice. One of the three is in the front yard in the Northeast and is happy. The other two are in the backyard. (Full sun.) If I keep it watered in this zone 6 climate, I think it will be ok. Should I cover it with mesh tulle to shade it?

We had a Yochino Cherry just 3 weeks or so ago and the same week all the leaves fell off. Wish I could post a pic here. A few branches has a few green leaves on.

That's really weird, I just dug up a mulberry seedling from last year this morning so I could use it for a rootstock to graft to but I broke off part of the tip of the taproot and skinned part of the bark a little further up off of it too, I potted it up and when I checked on it later most of the leaves were wilted, if it dies I have nothing in it, Ill just have to force myself to have more patience. Thanks

This is SO helpful!! Do you have a video about how to judge how wet or dry the dirt is for an in ground plant? I’m a newbie but I suspect we don’t want it bone dry. I have a custard apple in the ground that looks as sorry as it did all winter but the bark is green.

Hi. I planted a cherry fruit tree this morning, and now the leaves are wilting. Some of the roots at the end got cut off during planting. Any advice, please? Should i water it more? Ok so my main question is, are fruit cherry trees root sensitive ?

no theyre not. Shade it, don't let dry and time. Nothing else you can do.

I have been transplanting black hill spruce trees on my property, 1 out of 13 is wilted and the canopy is turning red. It was the largest of my transplants. Can it be saved? It’s only about 3’ tall.

@qctropicals what about baby blue eucalyptus, i have spent alot of money on seedlings and quarts. They last from a month to 3 months before drying out in their own pots or transplant. They start wilting no matter what, what do you recommend?

Could you consider an orange jubilee root sensitive? To your point I wish I did more research before reporting my jubilee. It’s looking very sad because I definitely shook off/ broke too much dirt when I was repotting it. I’m trying to save it now but it might be too late to salvage its wilting leaves.

Is coco plum transplant sensitive? I got some for free that they have pulled out but all the roots including tap roots were intact. I got them replanted pretty quickly but now they’re wilted and all the leaves are drying. I’m watering regularly and cut them back by 1/3. What else can I do for them?

Hello there! I recently potted my new mulberry tree about 3 feet tall into a large container(24 inches) but the new leaves appearing on the plant are curling(mostly backwards) but the older ones seem to be fine. I am unable to spot any pests.Any help is greatly appreciated.Thanks in advance!

if it's just the new growth, probably aphids. They attack only the new growth. Soapy water gets rid of them.

@@qctropicals ok ok truth haha. I got a mulberry graft question. I cut down a 4’ tree down to about 10” that I wanted to change the variety with. It’s in the ground and on the 2nd half of the day beating sun (Southwest FL). I did a cleft graft using 2 king white cuttings making sure the canbrium line up. Did everything you showed us. I wrapped both cuttings in grafting tape and covered it all in foil except covering the very top so the sun doesn’t dry it out. It had green shoots but they shriveled up. What happened? Thanks!
@qctropicals

@@Xray.71 When covering grafts, you need to keep sun light, water and wind away from it. These are the most common reasons grafts fail. You get a lot of rainfall, did you make sure to bag the grafts so water wouldn't get inside?
@Xray.71
@Xray.71 Жыл бұрын
@@qctropicals Apparently wasn’t sealed up enough, rain got in between to 2 cuttings. No bag. I saw somewhere people used some sort of clay to seal the crotch of the graft to not allow water.
