Absolutely one of my favourite poems! I visited USA with a Christian youth choir in the summer of 1991 (I live in Sweden). In a bookstore I buyed ”101 famous poems” , and found this poem ”Trees”. And many, many years later I discovered the song on KZbin, the song also so beautiful. I managed to find the sheet music, so some day I will sing it and play the music. This video I have shared with some of my friends today, on Good Friday 2022. Blessings from Sweden! ❤️ Stig-Erik

This has to be the most soul rending animation I've ever seen in my life. Absolutely beautiful.

Anyone notice how, as we move further away from the tree, it nearly resembles a cross in silhouette? That only makes this piece's ending feel a bit more mystical to me. :)

AWESOME! I grew up with the sound of Fred Waring the His Pennsylvanians as my, "Gold Standard" for choirs. Everything I learned about diction when singing was from all those great Waring arrangements with the accompanying "tone syllables."

I think that I shall never see A poem lovely as a tree. A tree whose hungry mouth is prest Against the earth's sweet flowing breast; A tree that looks at God all day, And lifts her leafy arms to pray; A tree that may in summer wear A nest of robins in her hair; Upon whose bosom snow has lain; Who intimately lives with rain. Poems are made by fools like me, But only God can make a tree.

This lead-in gives the misleading impression that the lyrics were written by a female in fact the author was Alfred Joyce Kilmer.

I have the sheet music for this and wanted to know what it sounded like. I happened to see an interview with Judy Garland recently on You Tube, She said her Mum, I think, made her sing this all the time. This animation works really well. Is it Disney. Thanks anyway for posting.

Joyce has been rolling in his grave since you released this video 13y ago. This poem is perfect without your touch. And the only reason j felt the need to tell you, is because you said "a poem about a tree" it's about all trees, and how foolish he has the poet is for trying to create something as beautiful as God's most simplest creation.
