I uptraded my '21 Domane SL 5 (bought in June '20) for the '23 Domane SL6 Gen 4 for the Di2 shifting and slightly lighter weight. I kept my Bontrager Pro51 wheelset that replaced the factory wheelset (long story). What a combination to have! Bike is awesome, fast, stable, and allows for long rides. I don't have any issues cycling in the mountains, Skyline Drive in Virginia, USA is AWESOME!! As for the battery, I get a month out of riding before shifting and average 100-120 miles per month.

Great review. I bought this bike yesterday, on sale, from $5300 to $4500. This is my first road bike and the first bike I've purchased since 1997. I never thought I would pay $4500 for a bicycle but I told myself that this was an investment in health, fitness, mental, and leisure. The bike is amazing. It's referred to as the AXS or ETap. It uses SRAM Rival electronic shifting. I prefer SRAM over Di2 because it's easier to use and the shifting is simple. I took it out yesterday for a test ride of about 10 miles. It performed amazingly. Carbon makes a big difference, and comfort-wise, it was great. The 32mm tires makes it even more comfortable. I am not any type of hardcore rider, I don't race, I don't do group ride, and I don't belong to any clubs. I just ride for enjoyment and cardio. I could have gotten away with the Domane AL 5 Gen 4 or any non-carbon fiber non-electrical shifting model for the type of riding I do. But I thought to myself, "what the heck." But I'm loving this bike and glad I went with Trek over the other brands.

Unfortunately, Trek STILL! has not fixed their iso seat issues with the seat dropping and noisy. Fix that, and it is a great bike. This same issue has been here since Gen 3 to Gen 4 so there is no real excuse for them NOT fixing the issues. Sad and false advertisement which is turning a lot of buyers away and they have even tried to hide the known falt as well.

I've seen so many owners talking about seat slipping down and rattling from the isospeed. I was considering a Domane, but think I'll go for a Specialized Roubaix, can't be dealing with those isospeed problems.
