As ever Rony an impeccable build with fantastic attention to detail. Seriously impressive.

do you think that in the future by further developing aero bikes and making them lighter, lightweight climbing bikes (cannondale supersix evo) could become obsolete, meaning they wouldn't have any single advantage over aero frames??

yes

would be cool to see how optimized you could make a more budget minded build compared to that bike. Something based around the cube aerium frames come to mind since those frames can be bought at great prices ( -1000€).

Looking at his stable of bikes, I would be very surprised if it's not a Trek. Probably needs to be UCI legal, otherwise it would be cool to see what he does with crazy shaped TT bikes (a la P5X)

Are you selling off the 2-spoke wheels without doing some testing on them compared with standard and other wheels? :(

Ronny, what foam do you use to cover the brake cables inside the aerobar (to prevent rattle)? Is it just something you buy at the hardware store? Do you use tape or similar to keep it in place? I will probably try to do the same thing. Great video!

Thanks, it is a bike specific product: r2-bike.com/capgo_1 Tape or shrink wrap to install

Rony - question... Just got eTap for the same bike.. but I have Shimano Ultegra chainrings 52/36.. the eTap Front derailleur is constantly dropping the chain and missing the upshift to the big ring. Took it to the shop and they re-aligned the front derailleur..took it home, BAM! Same thing.. sooooo Am I screwed? I have a quarq dFour.. so switching to sram cranks and rings is $1300+.. that would suck

Pian0Mon it's a Yaw FD, it's not set up correctly.

your opinions on disc brakes(not on tt/triathlon bikes, on road bikes), worth upgrading to? Or just wait till you buy your next bike to get them? Or are the not worth it at all at 450-600g heavier and a higher cost?(I imagine that's not very relevant for most people)
@ronykuba6 жыл бұрын
Goriaas upgrading just to get discs is a bit pointless, you need to look at the whole bike. If you are getting a new one anyway, then it's definitely the way to go. If not anything else, it's good future proofing.
@hellopsp1806 жыл бұрын
Its a waste of money upgrading a rim brake bike to disc brakes. It costs a lot and you would have to modify your frame. I would say only get disc brakes when getting a new bike. As for the weight. If you are racing up hills you probably would want the super light rim brakes over discs. However, if you are doing any commuting it's a no-brainer just get discs. I would say the weight doesnt make much difference, would only cost only a few watts up hill and you would gain so much more confidence and speed when cornering downhills.

I'm very surprised. Thought u loved that TSC TT bike of yours? (u put a lot of work/time into it as well as expensive upgrades) Were u not satisfied w/ yer TT times or did maintenance issues or something else move u to sell (besides the $$$) Rony? Like all, am wondering what u are buying for TT bike next? (and am sure u'll compare yer TT times vs. TSC TT bike)

@ronykuba6 жыл бұрын
Andy Stone black = every colour from the visible spectrum. This bike literally can't have more colour.
@attilarepasi60526 жыл бұрын
That would be white.
@ronykuba6 жыл бұрын
Attila Répási that would be wrong
@attilarepasi60526 жыл бұрын
"Light is perceived by the human visual system as white when the incoming light to the eye stimulates all three types of color sensitive cone cells in the eye in roughly equal amounts.[23] Materials that do not emit light themselves appear white if their surfaces reflect back most of the light that strikes them in a diffuse way." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White
@attilarepasi60526 жыл бұрын
So as far as I understand, a surface is said to be of a color, when it absorbs every other light frequencies and reflects the frequencies of that color. As black absorbs every light, it has no color. But anyway the bike is nice, no need to make excuses for its blackness.
