I 3d printed a silver 15" NX refit with the secondary hull. Took more than 5 days and it looked amazing when it was finished. I didn't have it for long before one of my nephews saw it and took it home

@@theequalizer9154 it wasn't too bad. I split the model into 3 pieces and glued it together. Most of the saucer section, just ahead of the impulse engines is where I did the first split. The second split was half-way through where the nacelle pylons come off of the secondary Hull. I printed all 3 parts vertically at the same time. Because of the way I split the model I didn't even need to use supports

I would love to see the NX-01 Refit be shown on Strange New Worlds. Like as a museum ship or an Academy ship kinda like how the U.S Navy does with the U.S.S Constitution or the Royal British Navy does with HMS Victory.

This ship is my second favorite ship only second to the Defiant if not tied with it for first. I watched enterprise every week on release on Channel 4's T4 (UK), same block that showed SG-1, Smallville and Andromeda. Streaming is good, but there was something good about having to wait for something worthwhile and savouring it. I say we need more Enterprise dammit, dust of the gear and get the crew back together. Think I may have to do a weekly rewatch and no I won't be skipping the intro.

Got the Eaglemoss NX-01 SS Enterprise on my desk, love it but where you came onto "they would turn the main deflector into a secondary back up one" naah they probably would have replaced the sensor dish with emergency back-up rocks to spray around the bridge if they took on damage as Star Trek loves its bridge shrapnel "poor Captain Garrett and Commander Riker from Yesterday's Enterprise" 😢

Of course the whole "First Contact" thing (movie, not TNG episode) and following up with the Enterprise series was all retcon, though. We know from the TOS episode "Metamorphosis" that Zefram Cochrane discovered warp drive for EVERYONE, not just Earth.

Doug Dennis I think the Romulan war could’ve been their answer to Star Wars the clone wars series and I think this series should’ve aired on Nickelodeon and should’ve been made in 2006 and aired from 2006 to 2009 with three seasons (Who should make and produce the series I vote Steve marmel the former developer of Danny Phantom I am saying it should been made by the same people that did Danny phantom) and it would be a micro series (similar to the clone wars 2003 microseries) like and comment if you agree

The NX-01 Enterprise is a fantastic ship, and highly under rated. I have the eaglemoss versions of both the standard and the refit NX-01. The refit is a very interesting design. Was really bummed when this show was canceled because the Romulan Wars would have been the highlight of season 5.

@kerryedavis Yeah, I get where your coming from. There's retcons all over the Star Trek franchise. They did try and limit some of the tech, like using shuttles instead of transporters and making the warp 5 engine the newest, top speed available at the time. TOS had Khan from " Space Seed" escape earth in the 1990's after WW3 and the Eugenics wars, in the S.S. Botany Bay, and we know that didn't happen. Just look at the stuff in Discovery, which is supposed to be TOS era, including Capt Pike and the upgrades to the Enterprise. Such is life.

@kerryedavis another Star Trek lover with taste, I knew I wasn't the only one. Those shows are horrible and a blasphemy to Star Trek. This is the funny part, I watched a video with statistics on viewership numbers for Enterprise's final season # 4 that was canceled due to supposed poor ratings. It stated that Disco only gets about 1/5 the number of viewers that Enterprise season 4 was getting and would be considered a home run if it could get such numbers. Star Trek has been in the toilet since Berman and company left the job.

Horizontal MARA is a nice callback to TOS, with the Engineering background disappearing into the distance. The vertical lava lamp in TMP was a change, and all later warp reactors were based on it.

great video. I was watching St Beyond a few days ago, and I noticed when Scotty is telling Kirk about the Franklin, he mentioned it being the first ship to reach Warp 4. I'm not sure if that is an consistency or not, since the NX-01 is the first Warp 5 ship, plus, it being the "Kelvin" timeline.

To say that Enterprise is one aspect of the early days of Startrek is almost in aspect a narrow mind approach, there are numerous opportunities for Startrek to go in multiple directions. It would be idea for Startrek to take bold steps in a series of the 3rd World War and the 100 years of Vulcan contact and the difficulties and struggles with reflections in the 2050s, and to introduce a series in the Romulan War.

They was supposed to be a major refit inbetween season 4 and 5 , after the xindi attack and other issues, the nx program was expanded and Starfleet got a major budget increase and enterprise provided data and technology ( from the episode e2 ) gave them data on how to make enterprise go faster than warp 6.9 for a short period, and weapons tech that allowed twice as much fire for the same amount of energy. That an a few other things developed in the 5 years sinse dhe launched, originally 4 nx were planned, but it was expanded to 7 , and the new ones had this new section, so enterprise was refit .. oh and i believe it had that new deflector ,

I believe she had more phase canons added as time went on . By season one finale she had a lot more that 3 phase canons, and later she had pulse canon versions added. And i believe the shuttles had phase canons added as well .

Nevertheless, I shall re-align my memory storage units. 🙂 The pod in the first episode was referred to as "Orbital Six" which is not something you'd call a pod from the ship. Especially if they only had ONE.

The only problem I saw with her was how did Erikson get around in his wheelchair with the hatched doors. Even in the novels, it was mentioned that T'Pol had to gingerly step over the doors. Besides, the hatched doors were designed for a water-based vessel, not necessary for one in space. Otherwise, they had to start somewhere to learn what worked best over time.

Secondary systems or redundancy is something a lot of ships even today have for long trips especially, any ship or boat that for example is going to cross the Atlantic will have at least 2 of everything, radios, auto pilots, radar, chart plotting, engines, go look at a nordhaven long range cruiser, or a bearing, if something breaks you need a back so you can continue your journey and get repairs done when you reach land, why wouldn't a starship, going far from its home world not have secondaries of each primary system and spares for repairs, it just makes sense, you would have say two transporter rooms and have them as separate systems so if one malfunctions you still have a working transporter, a secondary bridge as seen on the ncc1791 and ncc1791d which in tng was called the battle bridge, it just makes sense to have redundancy for important systems.

The NX-01 is my favourite ship. The TOS Enterprise is my least favourite version so the refit everyone loves is to me like going "Hey here's this fantastic modern piece of realistic cgi, what if it looked like it was made on blue peter from milk bottles and toilet roll tubes" I'm being harsh and unfair but the point is to accurately covey my emotions on the refit if not how the refit looks.

Still a fan of the NCC-1701-B. Sorry, but I love the Excelsior class and the 'hotrod' feel of the Enterprise-B with its fins is fine with me. It's about the only Enterprise we don't know the exact fate of, along with the 1701-A, both presumably in a museum somewhere but its never mentioned. You'd think the Enterprise-B would have been a training ship at least but maybe it got mothballed due to its high minimum crew requirement.

I always thought the regular NX Enterprise was OK but the refit that Doug Drexler made is A LOT better and more pleasing to look at. I got Round 2 model's version of it and built it as the Refit. I actually gave the hull color similar to that of the TOS hull colors. I didn't have aztec decals unfortunately as I couldn't afford them.

That's not the first Enterprise. It was just made up for the TV series and labeled "Enterprise". The first Enterprise was captained by Christopher Pike and taken out of space dock before it even had any Federation insignia painted on because it was needed for a rescue operation, and the new and improved shields were the only ones in Star Fleet that could handle the energy storm that the colonists' vessel was caught in. Robert April "recruited" George Kirk, who was at the time a security Chief on a Federation Space station, to be his first officer. This was the same vessel that James T. Kirk would later be assigned to as Captain. It's all laid out in the excellent Star trek novel, "Final Frontier".

My idea for the first episode would be where there's a war system malfunction and they get thrown back in time seems kind of old cliche butt it'll be a way of bringing trip back I think that would be good for the first episode with a new Enterprise what do you think? 🤔

The Utopia Refit here (sto name) turns the NX class from a light cruiser into a battle cruiser more in line with the Romulan war era.. but before they had to downgrade due to the Romulan telepresence unit they were using to take over ships like Columbia (star trek destiny) or the drones (enterprise) and plus they have the potential to carry nuclear weapons (hydrogen bombs) (like the six pack VLS battery on the Daedalus Class starship for orbital bombardment.) There is a simple explanation for why they wanted Nuclear weapons on a Star Ship.. Photon Torpedoes are Antimatter weapons and while they are dial a yield that is overkill for orbital bombardment.. dial a yield nuclear weapons are more than adequate for firing from space to a planet.. plus it does a lot less damage than a photon torpedo would that thing is an anti matter missile essentially..

The Enterprise was named after the USS Enterprise, the US Navy's first nuclear powered aircraft carrier. That ship was named after the USS Enterprise, an American aircraft carrier that had been decommissioned shortly before. That one was named after the one before, and so on. The US Navy has more or less always had a USS Enterprise, since 1775. The Enterprise was one of the four frigates commissioned by the Continental Congress to protect Colonial merchants and other citizens, particularly against muslim pirates in the Mediterranian Sea.
