Great to see a new pellet machine at work. John Deere and Massey Fergusin offered this type of machine here in the United States back in the 1960s. John Deere's last model year for the cyber was 1982. Are they making pellets or cubes? You did a great job filming around a large crowd. It can be very frustrating trying to film around allot of cameras when it is hard to judge when they are going to walk in front of you.

I wonder if this machine is very usefull since it works so slowly :-/ If you have bad weather coming, this would take to long :-) Wouldn't it be better (faster) to bale this with a normal baler and then process it into pallets at the farm/factory ?

For the people going its to slow or it would drive me nuts going that slow its doing one hell of a job making straw in to pellets if you want your crop off the field in no time bale and stack just all I can say

yes it can go faster. its going at this speed as its better for photos and is safer for the people climbing all over it

It's probably highest model of JD from Series 8 - so about 350HP or even more, pressing speed its about 1km/h ? or even less not sure why so low - maybe its just for presentation but if its required to work cause of efficiency of this "press" it can be not worthly of the money - fuel usage will describe how useful it can be Sorry for my bad English

Krone reckons you need 500hp to run it effectively I think, the only problem is finding a tractor that big to run one of them all season

Very high pressure used to force the material down series of tubes with a diameter of around 15 mm each. Normally heat is applies as well to steam form the material in the tubes as it passes through and every 20 to 30 mm it breaks off or is forced to break up and end result is pellets. Whether heat is is used here, I am not sure, but in stationary plant there is normally a heat phase to help dry and form the pellets. The combined processes involved have high energy demands and may have influenced the choice of tractor size used.
