The 'best' ship is subjective. We went on it in August to Spain and Portugal and it just felt quite sterile. The slightly older Celebrity ships feel a bit more 'glamorous'. I know it's personal taste, but I was just a bit underwhelmed by it.

Yes 'things happen'. But for you to be waiting and hour for food cooked incorrectly and for you to experience such things on more than one occasion is a bit of a black mark against a brand that markets itself as being above the competition. It's not great at any price point but at the ticket price involved I'd have hoped they were proactively reaching out to you at the time & post cruise to deliver a, genuine, service recovery package. Damn nice suite though!

An hour's wait for an incorrectly cooked steak is irritating especially as they know you're in the top suite. But then the next delay at breakfast then the cocktail delay unacceptable If this is how little they care about treating the people at the highest price point....I can't fathom what they think about those at the lowest. Regent Seven Seas or Seabourn for all the money I say. Celebrity clearly can't deliver at that level despite charging those prices.

I'm just randomly watching these but in a weird way he is kind of doing people a service because imagine if you paid that much and that's what you get, I would be pretty pissed off admittedly. They've obviously got to cut back on cost somehow with what they offer for free otherwise they wouldn't make any money but at times I feel like it would actually be cheaper and a much better experience to pay for your own pilot or learn to fly yourself etc. if you've got that kind of money. I would cut back on the fancy trip and make it so that I'm staying at an extremely fancy hotel instead long term, oh and shocker, even for a month it's still cheaper in some places to do a five star hotel which had me in hysterics doing the maths.

These rooms are booked by middle class really treating themselves or on a honeymoon. But yes you are right. He is doing a service showing what a rip off the cruise and train business really is. We did this on the Celebrity Beyond, the next ship following this Apex. The food is better than in the other restaurants, but has purposefully very slow service. They have to bring the food to every table at virtually the same time. But then it takes a while for the prior course to be finished and cleared from every table.

I had a similar experience in Luminae and a few of the restaurants on this line. It was a few years ago in The Retreat, although not in that suite. Meal service in Luminae was painfully slow and at one point during breakfast, I placed my empty coffee cup on my head after trying to get more coffee, repeatedly, much to the amusement of my fellow guests. I ended up writing a note to the Food and Beverage Manager and Hotel Director who met with me before the end of the cruise. Haven't been on Celebrity since. I cruise on Windstar and I hope you'll visit them soon.

I was glad to see this because the level of food didn't seem that different than what we got as a Traditional sunset balcony guest on all of their ships. Yes, you got a bigger room and some things included, but generally, I think the staff in most of the other parts of the ship give at least the same level of service.

2:13 this cabin if you can call it that is bloody incredible. Only time I’ve seen anything resembling that is when I stayed in one of the Royal suites on the QE2 alongside in Dubai. Duplex suites. But they are nothing compared to this.
