Did I miss where you sprayed your basecoat on the saucer exterior? You are just using a flat white basecoat and then spraying on the pearlescent aztecs? Did you seal the basecoat before you sprayed the aztecs on and did you seal them after before applying your decals?

Is that additional light blocking around the lights and windows I see at 10:05?

Did they EVER fix all these fit issues AND correct the bridge in later editions of this kit??? It seems like every version of the Refit Enterprise, whatever the scale, has its issues including the Round 2 kits! I had heard this kit was harder to put together than the TOS Enterprise and that the 1/350 TOS Enterprise was easier to put together than the Refit. It's kind of discouraging... I don't really have the space for a 32-33 inch model and I don't think I'd even want to tackle one of these larger models if they're going to charge over $100 for a larger kit and STILL have issues that the models 50 years back had!

Hi Boyd, I'm having the same fit issues on the secondary hull. Did you remove a small amount of material on all four pins or just the ones on the side walls? Cheers matey.

I installed my arboretum windows today following this technique slightly modified. I installed the frames after gluing the side panels on and then used this technique. It worked really well and gluing was a doddle as I used the Creative Dynamics Glue Looper version 2. I'd recommend it guys as it makes gluing so much easier.

Great video and thanks for all the awesome info. I just got my light board and leds from ralph, so next is the grinding. It almost seems wrong to take a die grinder and hack away at aa $80 piece of plastic, but here it goes. Lol thanks again.

Thanks for the next installment, Boyd. I do what I can, trying to think about everything in advance, but that can't match your experience. Definitely some school of hard knocks element in planning all of this out. BTW, can you just note what you're going to use for your base color for the ship? I want to start on the window areas like you mentioned, but I want to make sure I have what I should use for the whole ship in sufficient quantity, so there's no mismatches later. Thanks!

Boyd. Where do you get the flickering LED's. I've been looking around and have had no success. Any ideas?

Great video as always Boyd. One question...Are you going to block the inside back of the impulse drive where the red lights are so none of the interior lighting leaks out thru there when the impulse engines are off?

Yes, a little styrene box will be built around it to keep the saucer lighting from lighting the grills when they are off.
