i really do not mean any disrespect here.. but i am honestly surprised that this man is a guitar professor at a conservatory of music. he makes 3 mistakes (one of which he completely misses the note).. i realize we are all human... and we all make mistakes. but the bar is set higher for professors at the conservatory level. this is an easy etude. i usually teach this particular etude to my students within their first year of playing. and most of my students can play this better.

Fleta: Probably the most beautifull guitar in the world....

I had a ticket to see Segovia in concert but he died on me. I never forgave him. I do, however, have a Washburn guitar of a Fleta copy. I didn't know he played one.

I am in the same boat with ZIROLAND. The Fleta is a famous guitar and sounded very nice. But in this case it is not because player or microphone?

If the mic were a bit farther away, we MIGHT be able to make some kind of generalized statement as to the qualities of this guitar. It's futile unless we eliminate the most damaging element of the whole process, youtube's conversion. You can't arrive at anything quantifiable when we're listening to what sounds like a artifact-riddled 32kpbs AAC stream.

I like Fleta.

on a guitar like this, you do not play rubbish like this to demonstrate it. it is a Spanish guitar from the 50s, from the era where tone colour was at the fore, play something like Torroba. and use the guitars range, don't play in one position with a small sound - that is what lattice guitars were built for. all this guy demonstrated was a basic sound that sounds the same on nearly every guitar, and played in a very lacklustre way. the choice of microphone was terrible too. this guy is a professor? that is the classical guitar world for you, the academics have the power and have torn the classical guitar down in the last 50 years.

Boomy bass on that guitar. Their pronunciation of the spanish words drove me nuts though. "ee-nyah-so flaytah" (cringe( It's Eeg-nah-thee-oh Fleh-ta. He plays nice though.

If the mic was any farther away, we wouldn't hear anything. It's a DYNAMIC mic!

I agree, that was disappointing from a professional. Perhaps he had a bad day...

sounds not like what i'm expecting from a famous Fleta... the sound is very dull, or maybe it's just because the poor dynamic sm58 microphone...
