Tremonti is a monster and grossly underrated as a musician. Between Creed, Alter Bridge, and all his solo albums, the man has some epic music to his name and each album is different. His solo stuff is phenomenal.

I needed this song so badly. I needed this reminder. Feel like life has knocked me on my ass over the last year. Divorce, mom diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. I needed this reminder to not give up and to remain strong. Even when life seems to be falling apart before my eyes. I'm still standing and keep on giving and won't lose hope that things will work out. So, thank you for this. I love this band. True art. Keep rockin.🤘

I was ready to leave this world 3 years ago, couldn’t take it anymore. Picked up a bible ( book of instructions before leaving earth) and humbled myself to the answer of life. Jesus Christ laid his life down for every single human being because we are all wicked sinners. Jesus Christ is our creator and wants us to come home from this wicked world. Once you have him this world doesn’t matter anymore because he is the answer.

In my humble opinion, the BEST guitar player in the world. Thank God I discovered him on Creed because I've been a die-hard fan of his music since then. His guitar tone, his guitar chops, his composition skills, and now his voice, are proof of his unlimited talent and hard work. Doesn't matter if you listen to him in AB or Tremonti, Mark is a MACHINE.

I remember my friends and I being impressed with him when human clay came out , being that my own prison was very raw... human clay showed his progression in evolution , using modulation and different tunnings and chord progressions that were not cliche... he has done nothing but improve with any material or band since then , amazing guy. Tremonti is musically aging like fine wine.

@@christiancampbell3430 ( just responding , I know your comment wasn't towards me ) I always say there is no such thing as the best when it comes to guitar, everyone brings their unique sound and technique, so "best" becomes subjective . My personal best ( favorite) will always be joe satriani . I love how mark has come so far, I remeber in an interview back in the 90s , mark talking about lead guitarist soloing and shredding, he said he could never do that. But even with creed, you can tell he was limiting himself, at least mentally. Although not technically amazing; go back to the "pitty for a dime" solo, I was always amazed by that solo.

One of the greatest lines ever written in a song…. “The more you give, the less you will ever need”. I have taken that to heart in the last year. To the guy who needed a couple bucks outside 7-11, to the lady on the corner with the sign saying “homeless, please help and God bless”, to a coworker down on their luck…. It has made me humble. It has also rewarded me in ways I never expected. Tremonti rocks, and inspires me in my guitar playing in both his solo work and with Alter Bridge

What a listen. First off, his vocals have improved so much. His tone when he sings “So am I, I’m worn and I’m tired”, was beautiful. He is really coming into his own as a singer. I was worried about the drumming after Garrett left (good luck to you bro), but Ryan’s drumming on this song couldn’t have been done by anyone else. His style is such a change from the last few albums, but its just what the songs need. Incredible, glad to have you on board man. Erock killed it as always. His and Mark’s vocals mix so well together and is the staple behind this band. While Marks vocals are so powerful and raw, it wouldn’t be the same without Erock being there to lift them up in the choruses (And in If Not For You;’s verses, wow.). Stay strong Erock. I haven’t seen one comment about Tanner’s sound. I follow the dude on Instagram and he plays just about every instrument made. I give him props to the biggest change on these first two singles: the bottom end. Go back and listen to If Not For You, when the choruse kicks in, the bass sound underneath the rest is so different that before in a good way. The sound is thick and heavy. His bass adds the glue and finishing touches on the songs so far, keep it up Tanner! Overall, I’m so glad the mixing came out good. Whether you agree or not, AB’s last few albums mix’s weren’t the greatest. I’m a big fan of Walk the Sky, but it could’ve been pushed to the next level with good mixing. These first two songs take me back to the early Tremonti and AB: A nice rich guitar tone, gold bass and drums and top tier vocals. What a great song Mark, thanks for continuing to work and put out music. I know its easy to get lost in the negative things this industry has to offer, but here you standout among the crowd with your solid roots and that’s why you have the fan base that you do. We listen to everything on our ways to work in the morning and when we’ve had a bad day. You’ve talked (sang) me through some rough times and I know that you hope your music is helping people and it is. Keep going dude, no matter what they say. BTW, this is the lineup. You four play so well together, and it shows through you musicianship. Keep it up fellas :)

This song is so good, really love the prog vibes they explore on this. The drumming is so heavy, on point and Mark's singing is amazing, he's not just a guitar player who eventualy sings, he's an accomplished singer. I was highly desappointed by walk the sky at every level : songs (2-3 of them are just fine), prod and mix but this...this is great and easily one of the best songs Tremonti has written
@Retrorevelations

There have been a handful of really good songs on the last two AB records, but yes the mix has that "loudness wars" garbage happening. I still don't understand why anyone thinks that sounds good. If I was a band, I would tell the producer/engineer/mixer "Dude, DON'T do that". Outside of that, I wish Mark would sing more lead on AB songs. And yeah I do think they need to refresh, get back to whatever made Blackbird through Fortress so great. I don't wanna think so, but I have a sneaking suspicion that part of it is Mark saving the best songwriting he comes up with for his solo albums, because they have been rocking hardcore.

I appreciate how he tries to progress as a song writer. He obviously is trying to push himself musically here. A lot of offbeat transitions. I like it more on repeated listens than I did the first time. I have grown to like Mark on his own more than in Alter Bridge these days, and if everyone understood how much I love AB you would know that was tough for me to admit out loud.
@Retrorevelations
@Retrorevelations 2 жыл бұрын
I love Alter Bridge. I didn't at first. I was angry that Creed had broken up, and I didn't like Miles' sound as a singer at first. I eventually warmed to them, especially when Blackbird came out, which had some flat out incredible songs. I was a huge Creed fan, but AB was absolutely an leap in songwriting evolution. They have some really incredible songs. But I'm not gonna lie, while I think he's a talented singer, I've never been the HUGEST fan of Miles' tone/sound. I like him ok, but I like Mark's tone/sound a lot better, and I think he's grown into a really fantastic singer in his own right. In fact, I've been quite disappointed that he hasn't been the lead vocalist on more AB songs these last couple albums. IMO it should be at least 60/40, with Miles and Mark. Mark is that good. And while again, I DO like Miles, if AB was just Mark as the singer, I'd be 100% fine with that, because I prefer his voice. That said, I also feel that in some ways Tremonti is another leap in songwriting. Not totally, but I suppose it is at least more my style. Tremonti is my fav. "new" band of the last at least six years. I didn't totally dig his first solo record (it had a couple good songs), I was SUPER impressed by Cauterize, and I've been hooked since. I'm hoping this record will have a good variety in songs, but I think that's Mark's style anyway, so I'm not too worried that he'll let me down like some other musicians/bands have. I'm looking forward to the next AB album as well, though again, I wish Mark would sing lead on more songs, and I really wish they'd find another producer/mixer. Their last couple albums have had that "loudness war" crap going on, and I wish they wouldn't.
