The locust symbolism in revelation was of the roman army who surrounded Jerusalem and made them starve where the women who birthed dead babies ate them due to hunger. The locusts were part of a famine in the scriptures but the fact that they are ruled by a leader shows that they were soldiers.

I really like it personally, because medieval europeans were incredibly blasphemous, and the game is more based on the gothic aesthetic, and i think a game that adheres fully to the bible might be boring? Although idk the bible is pretty hardcore sometimes, but after the wacky parts they'll be a campy vibe that wouldn't really belong in trench crusade, at least in the new testament the messages of love don't really fit

So the tabletop game that took inspiration from christianity for its setting has bits that relate to the bible, what a surprise :p also there is an easy explanation for the game's success: its a grim setting, and arrives in an era where people are disgruntled at games workshop for ironing out a lot of the grim aspect of 40k. basically 40k player hoping to find back what 40k is moving away from as time passes

funny how there are people who are actually mad over a work of fiction designed to be blasphemous. >"oh but God wouldnt actually let that happen-" thats why its a work of fiction. >"they're mocking the word of God like he wouldnt do anything about the demons and-" but what if he didnt? what if we imagined a universe where God either doesnt have the power or aint give enough of a shit to protect against them? its a game chuddie, its supposed to be gory and have all these badass and monstrous designs, you aint saving europa or following the word of God by not buying a product that isnt meant for you.

Now put a woman that isn't obese and has a big set of boobs in the game and watch another group lose their minds. You know, the "women" (Dudes in party city wigs)

also god KINDA does something about demons in trench crusade, seeing he sent agents to help humans fight the forces of hell using holy means and regularly blesses humans so they can better fight

I don't exactly see how Trench Crusade is blasphemous, like am I missing something?
@RockoRobotics10 күн бұрын
While I am not sure why the developers use that term, here are two quick points(assuming I am understanding the lore correctly): The game seems to imply that God and Satan have the same power level. The quick summary is that according to the Bible they do not. God is infinitely more powerful than Satan. Second, the game seems to imply that God is some sort of psychological monster whose voice drives people insane.
@jorgeshaft148310 күн бұрын
@@RockoRobotics That first point is directly contradicted in the Trench Crusade lore. God is shown repeatedly as being much, much stronger than Satan, so much so in fact that the mere presence of full-fledged angels annihilates the faithful as well as the demons. God just doesn't interfere very much, for reasons we can all speculate about, while Satan very much is fully invested in the fight.

@ Thanks. I will have to double check the lore.
@zetaking290910 күн бұрын
@@RockoRobotics i am pritty sure the second point is kinda true, as hearing god speak will kill you, he has to use another angel to speak for him as a result

I agree, I really want to like it, but the fact that they’re just spitting all over Christianity puts me off. The way God is represented as not being able to do anything or not caring makes me not like. It’s a shame because the Christian armies look cool.
