When you rent your equipment out you need to have in contract that the customer is to return equipment clean and refuel. It's only fair. Have a great day be safe.

Exactly or when you get it back, and it's not done you charge them for a cleaning up fee. It doesn't matter if you are a buddy or not.

I love that you acknowledge the possibility of things going wrong when talking about the size of a job. I would be willing to bet that you are less prone to rushing into a mistake because you're trying to knock a small job out quickly. I could be wrong, but it seems less likely to happen to someone who is aware that things may not go according to plan.

Great content. Your cost to do the job should include prep, loading, transport, and your hourly rate. Your rental charge should require cleaning and fuel when returned. If you are dropping and picking up, that should be included in the rental cost.

Happy Thanksgiving Brock! Treat small jobs like big jobs and word of mouth will get you more work. Thanks for sharing 🤠

You should look at a product that Romar industries makes. It is called lubra seal. It is made for the chains that pull out the salt from salt spreading equipment. It can be used on any chian or any linkages. We had used under my pickup truck for keeping the shifting linkages free of rust. The company is located in Missouri. If it is paying the bills then that's what works. Usually the prep time would be included in the estimate for the job. Plus any additional expenses you may need for supplies.

I think they are worth it. 9 out of 10 times, they'll bring in the larger jobs.

Your skidsteer and trencher are a little overkill for that job, but hand digging a trench like that would definitely not be any fun at all!

If you are charging $1 a foot for a short run I don’t think it’s worth it.

If you're doing these for content great. Otherwise not worth the money. This is why there is a minimum charge or if charged hourly, minimum hours. I charge minimum 4 hours even if the job takes 10 minutes. Besides, customer who are trying to save money like that are not generally your target clientele. They always want more for less and nick pick everything.

We sometime hire an operator with their excavator to do work on our farm. The charge is a minimum of four hours. They normally take around six hours to do tasks we set like digging holes or tree stumps. We get them out once a year. Their excavator is a six tonne machine that costs around $150k. The operator is very skilled. The bill for their service is normally around $750. I think that is money well spent.

Just looking over your video and I'm wondering why all or most of your attachments are not stored in the Quansut Hut?

Why wouldn't small jobs not be worth it when you're the only person on your team? Small business supports small work or big jobs. What's the big deal over it?🤔🤣🤣🤣🤔
