I really like your emphasis on simple, minimal silhouettes and details. As a much older woman, at 59 years I am finding that simple, architectural and bold contemporary cuts in good fabric is the way to go, including jewellery. I still have pieces from the era of 90s minimalism, and they're looking very current in my wardrobe. All I'm needing to buy is to update a few accessories. I appreciate your links and ideas for places I don't usually shop in.

Be mindful that if your skin is darker, then you can easily rock the brighter colours and look fantastic. Likewise, if you're tall and slim you might want more dramatic styles, and some of them can work for you in a way that the others won't work.

@@singlehandedbeauty3581 Yep knowledge is power and the more you understand about colour including underlying skin tone, shape and proportion, principles the better. Then you evaluate your own body and colouring to determine which you want to emphasise and which you want to detract from. Then it's constantly evaluating and building on your understanding. So you will avoid making mistakes but also be more confident. French women do this over generations and this is the essence of style.

Shake hand? People does that still? Oh no no, I stopped with that since covid. I refuse and go like "Ah since covid I don't shake hands". Cropped trench coats are boxy and can be difficult to style with the right bottoms. Hard pass on them and will always lean into the mid thigh or just below the knee as they allow you to move easily and getting in/out of the car etc is much easier.

Right! The coat must be same tall as it’s owner. Only thus you can brake others necks looking back to you.

After being careful with impulse buying I was yesterday so close to buy an oversized suede bomber jacket in cognac. It was on sale and last item and I had just pressed "pay" when I was like "Wait, what are you doing? Is this jacket even in your style?! And the colour does it even suit your wardrobe?!" Had to abort it. I mean I loove suede, but a bomber jacket? Its not even my style! So how the hell em I supposed to get "a lot of wear" from it because there is no way I would wear it that often. My style in autumn/winter is like clean cut long wool coats (and down coats). The colour is not subtle at all etc. And its pricy as hell aswell. Ugh Same with suede long skirt I was close to buy. I mean, they look great, but is it even my style and how much wear can I get out of it because suede long skirt sure is a statement piece! Right? Edit: But I did buy two suede tote bags 😅 One in khaki from asos and one in grey. This trend is dangerous. I believe I will end up with several suede pieces this season but I will try my best to withstand😪

Hi Lydia! I love your aesthetic and your approach. I love how you mention less expensive alternatives to certain items. I wonder if you would ever consider including a vegan alternative with accessories once in a while...in fact, I'm sure some of the Mango and Zara items probably are, anyway. I do not judge others but I have made a commitment to add no new animal product items to my wardrobe. Although I admit I own some gorgeous designer investments from years ago that I'm still deciding whether to sell. Anyway..if you said that in a 20 min video, that would probably be 30 seconds...that would be about .025% of your time and super appreciated. Thanks for listening..or other suggestions of vegan friendly creators to watch, are welcome!

To me, the reason why animal prints look cheap when used as clothes, is the fact that real snake leather or leopard skin... are small and thick peaces, only usable on accessories. When used on large peaces, it automatically looks fake.
