Wenger saw this situation coming. Players running down contracts to move to desired destinations. Clubs can F over players & fans will support the club. I think it's absolutely fair if the player finishes their time & leaves. Trent has won everything. If he signs LFC won't take anything less than their assumed valuation which may keep them there and then you have an Osimhen situation. Let Trent go on a free. Get that signing on fee too.

That’s what none of these comments understand. You lot support plastic clubs that have no true tradition, club culture, or community bond. But looking at it now, if Trent REALLY holds Liverpool dear to his heart, (in which by not committing, shows that maybe his love for Liverpool isn't as pure as we all believe) he wouldn't leave on a free and would commit his short term future to Liverpool if anything, even if it means a slight increase in his wages. Have a release clause to go to Real Madrid in 2 or 3 years time should he feel the need for something new, if Real are able to or want to activate the release clause. Real only want him because he's available on a free. Trent helped create this problem but not advocating for his contract to be sorted years ago, so the Liverpool fans shouldn't allow him to avoid criticism. All parties are to blame for this! Fans need to grow a pair!

I could have easily made that argument, but the truth is I don't know. What we do know is that this had been in the making at least for the last 2 years.
