I think it is more appropriate to call protestant not christian but protestant. Their kind only existed in the 16th Century wherein true Christians happened to be in 33AD.

People who are born into Protestant denominations are indeed Christians. Those who are born into Catholicism, reject it, and go to a Protestant church instead are most likely not Christians. They might say and feel it. But by rejecting Christ in the Eucharist, Confession, etc. they are rejecting Christ.

1:32:47 I would remind you that Jesus also gave them the authority to _retain sins._ You mentioned two requirements and if he can't do the second then there is really no reason to grant absolution. With Jesus help any sin can be conquered. But you have to want it. Your advice to go to another Priest is pretty bad in my opinion because absolution, as you stipulated, is more than simply being sorry. You also have to have the _intention_ of not sinning again. Confession isn't a license to sin. What happens in 2 months when this man has seen the _new_ Priest and the new priest now also doubts his repentance? I don't believe in Priest shopping. Anymore than church shopping.
