One of my fondest memories of my Dad comes from the wonderful smell of him polishing his boots and showing me how to do the same. My children say the same about me, so this channel just warms my heart. I need to order some conditioners, creams, because all I have been doing is polishing......but not anymore. Thanks for sharing your passion with us!

Watching these shoe care videos brings back childhood memories of when I shined my shoes almost every Sunday night, using a folding shoe holder on the pantry door, a brush, Kiwi wax, a rag for applying the wax and another for buffing to a ‘spit’ shine.

Amazing transformation. The beautiful patina on these boots was completely hidden by all the dust and grime. The owner needs to step up (or just begin) his shoe care game. Easy stuff, just brush them quickly after each use, and hydrate once a month. My Iron Rangers look just like these at the end, that gentle shine. I love that look. Thanks for another great video!

Hello guys. After lace removal, I start with turning the boots upside down going after the welt line with the brush to let gravity help remove any trapped particles and dust. Then I wipe down the uppers with a damp rag before going after them with the brush. This minimizes any scratching when the brush moves from that welt line to the uppers. It also moisturizes the surface to take the conditioner better. I like Thursdays as much as the others, but have more Wolverine 1000 mile and Red Wings though. Thanks for your clarity and good advice. In advance, Happy New Year. We all need one don't we? DJ in Knoxville

The larger projects... outdoor leather goods/tack, work boots, automotive upholstery, etc., I prefer the Bick 4 conditioner, and often reach for my Obenauf's leather oil (has some beeswax and propolis in it). Conditioning the leather is a must. Good vid, thanks for putting them out. And, had they not mentioned the fact they sell the Saphir products, I wouldn't've known. Hi, is it a serious problem if the stitching on the bottom of the soles wears and tears? Will the sole came off of that happens? I've seen it in many cases that the stitching of goodyear-welted boots tears
@iliketoflips3 жыл бұрын
It's not a serious problem. Many brands including Allen Edmonds and Thursday Boots don't really set their sole stitching into deep channels. Obviously that means that the stitches are going to wear out as soon as the sole begins to wear down. Personally, it bothers me. But what I've heard (I believe from Trenton & Heath) is that there's enough of the glue/cement in between the sole and mid-sole that it soaks into the stitching a bit. This causes that stitching to still hold effectively even if some of the outer loops get abraded away.
