A long shot but not sure if you guys reply to old videos, in the boot restoration one where you applied conditioning cream (3-4 years ago)... How often do you recommend to apply the this cream to a boot? Every month of wear or..?
@TrentonHeath
@TrentonHeath Жыл бұрын
It completely depends upon how often the boots are worn. If you’re wearing them several times a week and/or they’re in harsh conditions, you could put some conditioner on them every couple of weeks. If you’re only wearing them every now and then, you could get by with conditioning them 2-3 times a year. Just apply whenever you think they need it (by the look and feel of the leather).

I have never owned a pair of Gucci shoes, however, I do own 9 pairs of Allen Edmonds. Several of those have been with me for over 45 years. Most have been through the re-crating process at the factory in Port Washington, WI. The highest price I ever paid for a pair was $90 for a pair of the shark skin Nassau. The re craft cost for anything today is around $120.00.

I love these shoes. I got lucky and bought them from a European retailer (when the USD was really strong relative to the GBP) and ended up getting these for ~$550. I love them. They fit well, look great, and are the only "luxury" brand shoe I'd ever shell out the cash for that isn't a bespoke shoe. Wouldn't pay $900 though.

I really love the care you took to add the GUCCI imprint on the soles, I know where I'm sending my Gucci loafers when the day comes for a resole. I think a lot of us who buy these know they aren't technically worth the price point (especially after all the recent price increases, these were under 700 bucks just 2 years ago), but they're really a beautiful shoe and the uppers feel incredible, probably one of the few luxury designers actually making a quality shoe these days, and the shopping experience you get in a boutique is worth a few extra bucks as well I suppose.

The other thing is, no other "knockoff" other than Carmina comes close to the silhouette and look of the shoe. Gucci horsebit loafers just look...right. Nice almond toe shape, no weird stiching on the toe box, horsebit isn't some gaudy buckle with branding. That's the extra I paid for alongside the brand; to look correct.

I also think I have an interesting project for y’all when I get some money. They are a pair of Mahabis slippers. The uppers are leather and the lowers are rubber but the rubber bottoms are completely coming apart. Mahabis no longer makes their slippers in a leather option anymore. I would love to see what you guys could do to put a better sole on them if that is all possible. I hate to just trash them. I paid like $250-$300 for them. The uppers are fine. It is just the soles that failed on them.

Excellent video. I do not have any means to be able to buy a $900 shoe, but by watching this channel and also others as well, the same or very similar quality by other brands might be had for less than 900. But hey, these men can get the materials they need to create a shoe, and the quality of craftsmanship alone can be justified if they priced it at close to $900. Keep it up. 🙂

Very Nice work -- Customer should be very pleased. Near 'Like-New" but better in my opinion. As for the price-point, to the owner -- surely!!! Value is what someone will pay... either to purchase or renew, so YES obviously!!! : ); more power to them and I'll applaud their choice all day, every day. For me, not practical -- then again, if I were to try them, I may think so myself .... and maybe try to make a work boot out of em : ). I know I'm a month late but I did enjoy just the same. Opposite of counterfeiting risk, I think it’s unfair to cover up your quality work, now that the shoes are arguably better than new. I guess the owner would prefer to see the brand name.

I’m on my third pair, the first stolen from my brother, the second brought from Italy by a PanAm pilot friend back in 1973 and most recently a used pair bought on eBay for $100.00, complete with custom shoe trees and Gucci shoe pouches! I would never pay the current price for a pair and having just had pair of Peal/Brooks Bros pebble grain chukka boots resoled/rebuilt for $600.00, I’m questioning my own sanity! But you two are at the top of your trade and I really enjoy your videos… now if I can just decide what to send you? How bout a pair of 40yr old Saks Gucci copies with the chamois liner falling apart… otherwise in great shape. 😂 would love to to send them off to you but I don’t think they deserve cost to revive them… a projected cost?
