Trespassing With Your Back To A Train Isn't Very Smart!

Another northbound train, this time ELS 502 with more pulpwood heads thru Kingsford and Iron Mountain as a trespasser walks along the tracks with his back to the train.. Then a quick look at the Pine Mountain Ski Jump..

Down in Florida recently a driver drove his car into the path of a train and him and the others were injured, the train was going slow, then later at the same crossing another driver drove his suv into the path of a train going very fast and him and his daughter were killed instantly, the vehicle was wrapped around the front of the locomotive like tin foil, thankfully the recording was blocked by a small tree, both were literally flying through and both vehicles ran the downed gates, the city and state are requesting that FEC put in quad gates to prevent this.

I about 9 was walking home with two friends with me between the rails, I saw the RDC about 2 miles away but forgot, a few minutes later a friend yelled train, I turned to look into the eyes of the engineer before I jumped to the track side. not a scratch.

In 1994, Chicago and many of it's suburbs repealed their whistle bands. Most of the suburbs are from the north and west sides. The only south suburb that had a whistle ban (which was repealed) was Chicago Heights.

More of those wave storms coming onshore from the west coast now like last year about this time. I got about 14in and most of it was frozen and lasted until 1Apr23 until it was all gone. Almost all the snow is gone here in NE was melted away over the weekend by above freezing temps even at night and rain.

Enjoyable! I pity the crew, running long nose forward. Not much visibility, so both the engineer and conductor have to be very vigilant.
