Often that is the result of having had too many nasty scares in the past. That and possibly a collision or two with a car or a person.

This on street parking makes the traffic so slow.

Just see what happens if you try to get rid of the parking!!

The St Ignatius school was behind the church. I first went there 72 years ago.

Did this tram start from Victoria street?

Yes, just a handful of metres away.

Wonderful, as always! Very busy for a Sunday; perhaps you could do a mid-week film sometime to show us the difference(?) Personally, I don't know how you stay sane with that traffic!

I did, are year or two ago around 5 pm. What an ordeal that was. The tram was stationary more than it was moving. It would have been a nightmare trying to edit out all the stopped times and still would be a slow ordeal to watch. No thanks.

The school is still there but I dont think its open anymore not enough students to warrant it. Richmond is not what it was 70 years ago. The yuppies with no kids have moved in.

If you do a Google search like I did, you will see that there is a very specialised school operating there now. Google answers most questions people ponder about.

Right at the beginning I wonder what the pax were up to on that tram.

Just enjoying their ride. As I don’t have to hold the camera I would have looked around to see what was going on if anything outrageous. Not in sedate Melbourne.

Where does the track keep going to at the end?
@tressteleg111 ай бұрын
That is the 67 to Carnegie and handy when the line has been operated by Glenhuntly from time to time in the past. Currently Kew runs this.

I’m pleased you liked it. If you have not seen the journey in the opposite direction, here it is on a Saturday afternoon: Driver's View Route 78 Melbourne Balaclava to North Richmond kzbin.info/www/bejne/mamcammkg7KJnck

Many thanks for your reply and I did watch the return trip. Also I'm just starting to relalise how many videos you have contributed - you have been a busy boy. I hope you continue to entertain us. Actually I did physically ride the Balaclava to Nth Richmond many years ago on a very busy day.@@tressteleg1

@noddy8607 It can be quite a slow trip on a busy day. On a previous visit I did record it one late afternoon and the tram was stopped so much it would have been hopeless trying to edit it. Here is a link to all the videos I have taken. Don’t try to watch them all at once! Melbourne Trams - Driver's Views, Rides kzbin.info/aero/PLLtOIHp49XNAm1qAXx3Oc73LehZsggS3t

I grew up in Europe and have been living in the US for 15 years now. However, I find your traffic lights to be potentially dangerous for me. I tend to focus too much on the traffic lights on the other side of intersections, and I've noticed that not all of them are synchronized with the lights just before the intersection... (not to mention that you drive on the wrong side of the road ;-)
@tressteleg111 ай бұрын
It would seem a lot less deceptive if you were on the road. The ‘lack of synchronism’ is usually to allow traffic to fully clear a very wide intersection before the wider street got their green or for traffic from that cross street to do turns or whatever. Far more dangerous is the US ‘4 way Stop’ signs. I bet there are some bunfights considering that many Americans have rather short tempers. As for driving on the ‘wrong side’ the ancient Roman soldiers went on the left so their right arm was free to grab and use their swords, and the early Britons continued on the left. Much of Europe drove on the left, and some railways still do that, until Hitler force many of them to change. I suppose Napoleon would prefer the right as that would be the opposite of Britain, and the Americans would have done the same. If driving on the left would be too much of a challenge for you, stay in the US and Europe 😄. I had little trouble driving on the right when required.

Is that a different camera you are using, Richard? Did not seem as clear as your recent videos. I thought this driver was a bit too Gong happy.
@tressteleg111 ай бұрын
Well I don’t know what you are watching it on but I just streamed the KZbin version to my OLED TV and it looked pretty darn good. It was done on my newish GoPro 7 and the uploaded file size was 5 gig. Same camera as the recent 6 and 19.
