Somethings in life are weighed so much more when it's attached to a really good presentation. Christmas isn't the same w/ the music. Movies aren't as nostalgic as they are w/ their Soundtracks, like Jurassic Park.

0:00-2:15 makes me cry so hard. this movie was on TV last night when this song played and the scene (I won't spoil it for people who haven't seen it) I cried so hard and long even after movie was over. I believe I cried for 20 minutes. still crying I saw that The Guardian was coming on AGAIN. I said I can't watch it again. I had found this soundtrack earlier and I kept playing it over and cried like I hadn't cried in a long time. I felt I wasn't gonna be able to stop crying. After crying was FINALLY OVER I got ready for bed. House was quiet I thought let me hear this one more time. started song and felt the dam about to break again I said no I can't. cut it off. Slept. Got up today and started song up again. I noticed something I zoned out while song played still listening to it tho and didn't cry but when I really listen to song I have that urge to cry like last night. even notice I start breathing different like when I'm about to cry. it's so weird. This song is just ONE of THOSE SONGS that gets inside deep inside causing so much emotion and a need to release it. ❤ from Virginia.

My father flew HH-3s for the USCG. The Alaska storm scenes in this movie are pretty mild according to him. He would know, we spent 2 years in Southeastern AK and he covered the entire Gulf,e ven spent some time plucking fishermen out of the Bering Sea. One thing he always says when he sees the seahawks in the movie, "Those things would never survive some of the conditions we flew in."

The first time I heard this score I had just gone through a horrible horrible breakup. Including lost of trust and cheating and everything. And the first half of this score is basically the journey I went on over the next several years to where I am now. And the best way I can describe it is like a hurricane hitting a small coastal town. Bear with me. Hopefully this makes sense. 0-0:52 seconds is unltimate grief and brokenness. Wailing and gnashing. Physical pain from the loss. Or the initial shock of a full category 5 hurricane hitting a small town with no warning at all. Just completely unprepared and you know you are in trouble. 0:53-1:52 is like you telling yourself it isn't that bad, and then seeing a couple that was supposed to be you and your partner (husband, wife, gf, bf, etc). Or it's the wave that breaks through the seawall on the town. Destroying everything and essentially kicking someone when they are already down, despite them thinking there might be some hope. 1:52-2:15 is like when you are through the worst part of it. The eye wall has passed. Now it's just rain bands. It doesn't quite hurt as much to hear their name but you still have times where you get slapped for no apparent reason. And then just as quickly, it's gone. 2:16-3:12 is the morning after. You look outside and realize the utter devastation you are in the middle of. It's overwhelming but already you are seeing signs of improvement. Yes the town might be an absolute wreck but the people have each other's back. Clean up has begun. Water is being handed out. Help is coming. Or like when you can actually go out with your friends, them knowing you need to be held up and they do it. Even if it makes it awkward for them. Because that's what friends are for. Still sad, but maybe, just maybe there is going to be something good from this. 3:13-3:54-That hope is building. Weeks (or months) have passed, the streets are cleared, power is back. Schools about to start back. People are smiling and waving again. You see an attractive lady and for once you don't get that pit in your stomach. You actually get excited. Maybe some butterflies in the stomach. And you start to think "maybe it is time to take another shot..." 3:55-4:23- The town has completely rebuilt. A monument has been set up to remember the storm. A plaque with all the names of the people who didn't make it sits next to the statue. But the sky is blue and the children are laughing and playing. And the town has a new respect for the unpredictable. You settled down with that lady (or guy). You have a few kids. And you think back on that storm in your life, while painful and something you never ever want to go through again, you see how much stronger it made you in every aspect of yourself. Man I love movie scores sooooo much.

There is no greater glory and honor to me than being in the military. To sacrifice for your country like so many others have, and to do your best in defending the land you believe in. The people of the world cannot always help themselves, and that's why those who wish to make a difference are here, ready to offer them a helping hand. Ready to sacrifice for the good of all. Ready to be everything we need them to be. To help and protect those we love. To be heroes. To be guardians.

I know what the military is. I know the true purpose of it, homeland security, etc. The military is *mainly* existent to protect us, but I know that it does have some bad meanings and underlying secrets where plenty of good people have surely died. Now, that isn't to say that the military isn't a good thing. It's NOT enough to just have a shit-ton of nukes at your disposal. That will generally keep nations the fuck away, but once others have acquired that same technology, that's when you need the military. It's a defense against others, *mainly*, and major events from history will back that up.

Kristian Tervakoski Drop the high-and-mighty act. You're not some amazing analyst that can figure someone out from their expressed point of view on how others sacrifice themselves in the military, serving the country (for most of them), in a single KZbin comment. The military isn't some horrible organization that's out to get us. It does good shit and bad shit, and I was just praising the good. Simple as that.

Compassion and worthy of respect. In the honest belief that mutual feeling of an unwritten rule, one unselfish act. That every human life is worth to be saved. With humble instinct and desire to give help where it´s needed. Not asked, seen. See a need, fill a need. Heard, and out of reflex, do what feels right. Yesterday was history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift, that´s why it's called the present. And what to do with a present, if not the most of it. And this soundtrack fits good

Agreed. Though it would be wrong to pretend that this movie was not a hollywood product or went by the same format, I'm glad they decided to honor the coast guard and not make it a hollywood piece of shit. They actually made it quite serious. This new coast guard movie coming out doesn't look like a dedication, it looks like an exploitation of the coast guards most difficult rescue mission simply to make an action flick and money. But with that said i have not seen the movie, it isn't out yet and previews are very misleading so i hope I'm wrong. Im just tired of all the hollywood nonsense blockbusters that when they are in a gunfight they are making jokes and making it seem less tense than it should be. Not saying its gotta be real but fuck, at least make it somewhat realistic. Its just bad sociologically, morally, and intellectually.
@iancross50439 жыл бұрын
I could never ever be more agreeable with you they always make jokes like for example let's say in 21 jump street it was a comedy yeah but in that last gunfight at prom their laughing and joking in the middle of a fire fight and my thoughts was Hollywood what have you done
