african americans just don't know how much they've actually changed the perceptions of black people in certain parts of the world. i mean, in asia generally dark skinned people are not favored, but with hip hop being in the mainstream more and more, asians starting to adopt the culture: raps, clothing style, etc, and youngsters are starting to have more open minded views of black people, to the point of idolizing black american culture.

Funny you said this. He doesn't "rely" on profanity, but it comes up for emphasis or context. On the other hand, I just saw Arsenio Hall's special on Netflix, and I literally had to stop watching. Not only was it not funny, but for a person with his standing and recognition, it felt like he was trying too hard with the use of the profanity. It was hard to watch. Trevor is always a pleasure.

@play there is no silver bullet when it comes to preparing your child. My white mom tried to hide our fathers heritage and that was not good of her because it made my siblings be confused. I think it is also important they accept that they are mixed and might not fit in with one side or another. I do think people put too much emphasis on race and looks: at the end that doesn’t make you a good person.

Without question, your insight into this subject matter is bordering on perfection. The ‘blackness spectrum’ is not viewed similarly around the world. You’re right, the US tends to popularise and glamourise this subject with the rest of the world observing with curiosity and in most cases, juxtaposing it to their culture. This is so nuanced, but you managed to drill down so skilfully in exposing it. . You’re the man Trevor! !!
