A 2 year specialist makes a comfy 2,300ish pre-tax plus the food and rent. Also BAH and BAS are tax fee income. So you can pocket hella money if you're cheap. I grew up poor and enlisting instantly brought me up to the middle class.
@yulfine16884 жыл бұрын
@@Alejandr01836 they are paid quite well actually...active or reserves. Yeah active has a slightly higher pay and you dont pay for insurance etc. However outside of that the pay even as a e1 is basically what a 11$hr 40hrs a week job is give or take. Yeah that sounds bad minus the food and housing pay doesnt exist and if your active its a bit higher as a e1 or whatever the lowest rank in your branch is. Is it great? No but considering your benefits and how much less you have to pay for other things its not bad. Now if we talk about different ranks an e5 which is not hard to reach mind you is around 15$ an hour full time once again you have the benefits of the military for housing food and so forth. Same thing being active duty gives a higher pay. Now lets go into a rank which requires a bachelors. Something such as an 06 which is a captain in the navy is over 6000$ a month in pay. Basically right below a 6 figure salary. Its not a overly difficult rank to achieve and college is next to or is free which eliminates all of that cost as well. Now thats with minimal experience as your stay in longer your pay increases. Lets say you stay an extra 8 years after your first 8 years and your a captain all 8 of those years and you dont go up in rank. You pay jumps to almost 8500$ a month in pay which is now 6 figures. Within those 8 years you may rank up once or twice depending on numerous factors Lets say you hit a o7 before you retire. An o7 starting off is over 9k per month and any 7 rank is quite achievable however expect it to take 15 or more years of service depending and now that is your overall service. If you within your first 4 years of service hit college and officer school you could probably make it there within another 8 or so years this all varies. If you hit a rank 8 before you retire and youre a rank 8 for only 4 years. Your start pay is over 10k per month but after being that rank for 4 years before you retire youre over 11k per month or around 140 grand per year. Is it super fantastic? No but thats a hell of a lot better than many other people and if youre retired that pay is still quite high around 10k per month still. The surgeon general which is the rank of vice admiral or something and i believe one actually hit the rank of admiral. However the pay is between 250k to over 500k a year in pay. So the pay can be very high or pretty average depending on the person. Obviously if you retire young from the military as just an o6 lets say with 5 years of experience thats still 8100 a month plus whatever job you in afterwards as well. I mean if youre in your mid 30s when you retire and you started when you were lets say 18 and your 34 thats 16 years of service and by then youll probably be a good rank to retire and still young. So your pay plus whatever job afterwards and if youre married plus maybe your spouses income that alone is a ton of money for most people. Obviously during that time youll probably marry and have kids which is high expense to work with but if youre mid 20s when you have kids then youre already making decent money usually as an officer.

I was blessed to have a friend find me a gently used blemless Elbit Gen 3 thin filmed green phos PVS-14 for $1950 shipped. Low Light Innovations makes a terrific "white" filter that essentially mimics white phos in appearance with limited light transmission loss for only $25. To save money on the mount, he suggested an "Evolution Gear L4G24 NVG Mount Perfect Replica" for only $85 shipped instead of the $465 for the real one, and the quality is phenomenal. I also picked up a used Wilcox AN/PVS-14 Arm for $150 shipped down from the original $229 price. Botach has a Longfri Level IIIA ballistic helmet for only $199 that is around 3 pounds, good quality for the price and there are lots of ballistic test videos on them. I also went with the FCS AMP Headset that is a fully functioning Replica of the Ops Core AMP for only $175 shipped down from $999 for the real one. I plan on running a Disco 32 PTT with them to get my Comms squared away. Although all of this stuff is still expensive, there are ways of making NVGs and Comms realistically affordable instead of an unobtainable pipe dream. I highly encourage yourself and others to do the same. I was able to have just as functional of a setup for a little more than $2,500 that would have been $7,500+ if I had gone "Gucci" on everything...............

It's one thing to listen to an active duty person give his thoughts on the subject and another to listen to some civilian with no experience at all. I just can't take this kid seriously.

Are you an operator? “No” are you in the military or law enforcement? “No” well why are you so high speed? “Because fuck you this is America and i can that’s why.”

The MS2000 has a very definite advantage, not found on most alternative civilian strobes. Yours should have come with the Strobe Shield/Shroud, that causes the color of the Strobe flashes to be BLUE. To aviation units, normal White Strobe flashes can be mistaken for gunfire directed at Aircraft.....perhaps resulting in your becoming a friendly fire casualty . The Blue Strobe flashes did not resemble muzzle flashes , and can be beneficial IFF if Aviation units may be involved in a real scenario . Your MS2000 might be Old School; but if you keep using it, you should live long enough to become Old School too. SF Doc Kaffenberger US Army 1970 to 2006 . Thanks guys. I’ve been thinking about getting into night vision, and of course helmets, for some time. Your video really helped me on how I might set mine up and what I’ll need to do it. Thanks for sharing and have a MERRY CHRISTMAS 🎄

And here I was thinking I was clever and screwing the boom mic mount inside of my MITCH helmet. Shit is getting ridiculous, these helmets are looking more and more like we’re copying airsoft and not the other way around.

A game in which boys (or sometimes old guys) play army and shoot each other with plastic BBs. It's pretty gay yet pretty fun... not that I would know, I'm a barrel chested delta navy seal ranger sniper medic. I'm too cool for toy guns.

Mason Dixon Garland thumb is in the military. Lucas makes military related products and is a trainer.

Didn't mean to rush you for a video; I understand the holidays can be stressful. I do appreciate it though. I only wish I could afford half of the training and equipment/ equipment training you both get. I don't have a job that allows me to do that, nor does it pay enough to do so. It took me over a year to fully build my bcm rifle. I can't even imagine how long it will take to get to a training class.

I am a very very novice compared to these guys. I have paid for training from different schools. Some of those dudes were ex military or NRA instructors. NONE OF THOSE DUDES CAN PULL THE TRIGGER LIKE LUCAS! This guy has said he is not military or LE. He is very impressive. Even though at some of the steel shoots I have participated in the LE guys get smoked by civilians ALWAYS! You are an impressive shooter Lucas, keep up the good work and content.

the blooper reel at end was worth it. So if a dude had a pvs-14 and was trying to operate - would you recommend taking off the rubber eye cup thing to get a better field of view? Thoughts?

I have three things I want to say...1.I absolutely love when these guys do duo videos. They always come out with amazing content! 2. Lucas looks like he has been hitting the gym which is awesome for him. Keep up the good work!3. I pray that I am never on the shit end of a gunfight with these two guys. How fucking terrifying would that be?!
