apply that to 20 years of work tho. it's great, and deserved for these guys VS say, what Rupert Murdoch earns just for owning rights to certain programs. He invests and gains, a business man. These guys create. But Money brings more money. Kanye was worth 8 billion just a couple years ago. His record sales profits invested into his fashion line and other investments. Probably hooked up with solid financial advisers thru the Kardashians too, as he doesn't seem that sharp himself. What I'm saying is the output these two have done in the hollywood space X the years, it's not gazillions. It is ofc for sure enough though. 7 mill a year or so and take all costs out. then tax. they probably take home 2.5 mil each if it was averaged out over 20 years. but.. the early years they earned far less and in later years earned more so much bigger tax bills in those later years. Its great money, dont get me wrong, but look how massive that show is.

I think it was literally the exact same if not worse, maybe slightly better but it really doesn’t mean anything this type of shit is cyclical. In the 60s there was all this “fuck the man” rebellion with culture, and being free and rebelling against what the government said or whatever, then in the 80s it kind of looped back to where they were back to misrepresenting lyrics and pretending they’re “endorsing” these things, and if you need proof of that watch the countless clips of Zappa arguing with different people, I think the crossfire one is a good example Bc they’re taking lyrics from a prince song and saying he’s advocating incest, and then those people ended up succeeding in putting parental advisory stickers on everything and those are still there today. I feel like a lot of popular music and movies have been pretty soulless and whatnot for a while, and there’s always people who want to act like it’s the death of art it’s the opposite, because of that there’s countless rappers or film makers etc who are doing weird unique things nobody in the mainstream is doing Bc that ALWAYS happens that’s how counter culture starts. Mark my words in the next 5-10 years it’ll probably go back to being not as insane, or more insane who knows

Is the audio issue from the broadcast (maybe the satellite from the west coast wasn’t working properly?), or did you have to do some manipulation to it in order to avoid copyright strikes?

Edit: Now that I watch more, I’m wondering if this is just a VHS rip from an old tape..

I had a similar interaction with Jeffrey Jones; long ago, I was a cashier at HomeBase back in the very early 90's, and here comes Jeffrey Jones through my line. This was just after his failed TV show, 'The People Next Door'. It was based on an artist/cartoonist who could conjure up characters at will, an interesting character with a wild imagination. This show was a twist of Ted Knights previous show, 'Too Close for Comfort' -- I say that loosely, only because it had a similar main character whose work was around making cartoons. Anyway, as Jeffrey Jones made his way up through the line, and then began to ring up his purchase, I mentioned his TV show and made the comment, "Your show lacks imagination." He just looked stunned and said something like, "well I didn't write the jokes." I just smiled out of fear for a lack of understanding of why he didn't catch the joke, and as finished up on his purchase, he didn't smile but just glared at me then left... I never got a chance to explain or apologize. Hey, I was a kid back then, and my intended joke fell miserably flat with the punchline getting entirely lost in translation. What I meant to say, or to suggest as the joke; which at the time I thought was incredibly funny, was that his show; based entirely on 'imagination' as I said, "lacked imagination" -- I thought that was funny... it was intended to be an unintentional poke at Jeffrey Jones but a poke at the show's storyline, entirely based on humorous irony, but he took it as intentional criticism.
