I live in Houston. My electric bill was $88 and gas was $38. In the summer it is around $120 to $130 and the gas is around $20, but I have an 18 SEER AC and all gas appliances. You may have something drawing power that shouldn't. It's possible to have something being grounded out that is sending stray voltage to the ground causing a constant current draw. Turn off everything in the house and turn off all the breakers and check the two lines coming in at the breaker panel with an amp meter. It should read near zero. Turn each breaker on 1 at a time and watch it go up. It should still be near zero. If you see a spike see what is on that circuit. Other than that, Maybe invest in double pane windows, that helps a lot. Also getting a heat pump instead of electric heat net time you replace your system, the new ones can work to zero degrees.

I have a 2 bedroom house and my light bill is only around a $115.00 a month. I'm happy with that. I'll never complain ever again. Where I live, got about 8 to 10 inches of snow.. Trey I love your house and your bathroom. That looks very nice...Good choice of colors.. And my daughter's room looked like that too. Until she moved out and now pays her own bills and has her own place. Her house is spotless, lol..Carly will get older and grow out of that. Trust me.

My old house that was built 1880 had super high electric bill because the old wiring was draining the electricity all day every day. Meter was cranking all day. Find an honest electrician and get it checked. Our little house went from $220 a month down to $110 with new box and wiring

Your electric bill floored me. I live in Winston-Salem NC and my December bill which included 2 christmas trees, a lighted deer, normal lighting, refrigerator plus running a heat pump set at 66 degrees in a 1000' square foot house that was built in 1949 was $ 72.00. I'd keep on to Duke Energy about that bill. Enjoy your videos and house updates.

That's what I'm thinking. My light bill runs around $115.00 a month. I have a 4 bedroom house but keep the upstairs closed off. I have 2 bedrooms up 2 bedrooms down. Trey's is way too high . And I do keep my thermostat on 68. So that it's a nice comfortable temp.

Lol I've been watching these guys for years, and I remember the videos a while back where the back door had nothing under it at all but a car 10 feet below. Lol I guess I'm happy to see the guys doing well for themselves, and I am absolutely curious and interested to see his new deck and porch, without all the snow on it. Since you put it that way though, I guess I am just excited to really see Justin and Amy's new basement bedroom once it's completed. I'm kinda old though, and I am very fascinated and intrigued with home modifications; and getting inspired with ideas for my own residence as well. I would have made the beds too, but they keep it real and I guess I usually appreciate that about them. They're not polished or refined, and it doesn't seem like they try to be anything that they're not. It seems very much the scenario of, "What you see, is what you get." My electrical bill this month was $175.98 normally my electrical bill is usually around $100.00 to $130.00 around this time of year. And that's usually because my heater this time of year is usually set to 75. But because I adopted a tiny hamster I have to keep it a little warmer in here for her. I woke up one morning and she was in top of her cage shivering. So I turn the heat up a little bit to keep her warm. But like I said in previous comment I live in an apartment complex so my electrical bill isn't as high as somebody who has a house

A couple months ago my KZbin account was deleted by KZbin. The reason I was given when I tried to get my account back on was that my videos/comments were mean or some crap that made no sense. First off I don't upload content. Also when I do comment in a manner that would be rude or mean it's in response to a video that uses language or has a topic that is racist or has a ridiculously stupid topic. I live in apartment complex and we do have Duke Energy over here. And they came through about a month-and-a-half ago to put those LED light bulbs in her apartment complex. And honestly my electric bill went up. It didn't go down. I personally don't usually use my lights listen taking a shower or I'm getting dressed so I'm cooking in my kitchen. We're doing laundry. But I have my lights off probably 98% of the time. So I rarely ever actually use them. But yeah Duke Energy discharge you out the ass

We live in central OH, 1500 sq-ft house, ours runs around $100 in the winter and $150 in the summer. Thermostat stays on 70 year round. Gas stove, gas dryer, gas furnace, gas water heater helps a lot with electric costs!

Southern Indiana here and my utility bill for gas, water and electric combined ranges from $120-$180 year round. Electric is typically $85-$120. My thermostat is set to 68 in winter and 70 in summer 24 hours a day as I work night shift and am home sleeping during the day when the family is gone. That is outrageous what you are paying!

I remember Trey having the frat boy look in a pic when he was a teen. In that one with the kids he looked like a country singer in his prime. We have deregulation here in Texas. It has it's flaws which hopefully has been addressed, but it keeps the prices down. You can shop around for the cheapest electric provider. You have to do at least a year contract for the best deal, but your rate is locked in. When their rates go up you just find a new provider. I pay around 9 cents a KW.

Take out your window air conditioner, that's why it's colder in Treys bedroom, like leaving the window open! Also at Walmart they have as seen on tv room heaters that use very little power and safe to leave on while your there it's small but works good around $29 up front by the cash registers..

Electric went up in Ohio too! Take a lighter around your doors and windows to find drafts! That's a old house that's why it's so high..Or hire a team to come do a draft test they use some hose to suck out the air and it tells them how much heat your loosing something like that...Just wait if it's not already happened in Ky ..Next is no bags at kroger. Cvs just stopped using them. So bring your ♻️ bags! I suggest putting a wall upstairs to enclose the bathroom for your future lady friends 😉 We like our privacy.. ✌
