I've still got mine, got it as a kid in about 1965 or 66 I guess - used to run it on 20 volts so it went like the clappers - it's right here on the shelf beside my bed. I was just talking the other day with a friend about setting up a long long straight track down his garden to see how fast we can actually get it to go! Lots of volts, pillow at the end to catch it... As a dog, I might even chase it... Woof!

So sorry for not responding sooner, that does sound like fun! I do wonder what the top speed would be and if it would leave the track? Thanks again for watching and taking the time to share.

Reminds me of Saturday morning at the pictures, watching Buster Crabb as Flash Gordon. Just no smoke and sparks coming out the back (thankfully). Love it. Glad you got it running. :)

Had one about 60 years ago! As a little kid, used to love making it go so fast it flew off on the curves lol

What a fun little toy with a different mode of power like the Schienenzeppelin that was a very fast locomotive but had no real torque, so it was impractical to tow any cars. Great repair and video, Jersey Bill

This was my only train thing I ever had - loved making it go super fast around my brother's layout. I can't remember the number of times I got him to glue the 'spike' back on :)

The spike is sold as an after market spare so you were not alone on braking it off. Just had a look at your channel, very interesting I shall watch some vids later and I have subscribed - Matt

I remember these in the toyshop window in the 60s. Beyond my buying power I'm afraid!

I always wondered whether the fan was just for show and the motor actually drove the wheeels? Now I know! 👍

Hi Steve, catching up again, I had to look it up, I guess the aerotrain? could very well be, roughly the same time period. All the best Matt
