Love the colour light signals. They just add so much interest and play value and you have reminded me of how good they are. The yard lights always looked wonderful on your Super 4 layout and it will be good to see them make a re-appearance. You have so many nice models stored away, I'm not surprised you lose track of them. I forget about some of the things I have and I only have a tiny fraction of your collection. It's always fun to find them again though. 😊

Thank you Oscar for another wonderful video. Love the flip through that vintage Tri-ang catalogue. I like you showing your plan to put colour light signals on your layout & how you explained everything. Also learned something new, about the short lived Super 4 point activated switch attachment to activate colour light signal changes. Enjoyed your running session, great to see the vintage Tri-ang / Hornby & 3 rail Hornby Dublo trains storming about your fantastic layout. Great ending to your video, made me smile & drool to see you open up & go through that cardboard carton of lovely red & yellow Tri-ang & Tri-ang / Hornby boxes, digging them out & commenting on them. Amazing treasures! Cool that some boxes still have the " old money " prices on them, like 7/3. Best regards from British Columbia, Canada.

The cool white LED's you've used in the yard lights would be a similar colour to the Mercury Vapour lamps that use to be used a lot. Though I think a lot of yards likely used the more orange coloured Sodium Vapour lamps as well. Now I am curious and I might do some research as to what lamps were used in various periods :)

I had a couple of the later colour light signals. What a shame they replaced the earlier ones which are much finer and better looking. A fun video with lots of variety 👍

Those signals seemed to have such a magical effect! My memory of those tiny green and red lights was brought vividly back to the fore by your wonderful video. Thank you Oscar.

Hi Oscar, The signals look great, functioning with the points.. It adds an extra level to a railway... The relays connected to the solenoid wiring are a great idea... We use similar ones on our layout to operate signals and also route power to the track as well. I really like Terence Cuneo's efforts in the catalogue and First 10 years book, but I could never bring myself to "weather" any of my own locos? I like them looking "shiny"' and "new"! Great video as usual... It's funny to read comments about "starting the day" with your videos? The time difference here in Tasmania, make them a late afternoon arrival, just before the Evening meal... I always look out for them each Sunday, and enjoy the time spent on memories from my distant past as well as comparing my grandson's present day collection? He adores the old Tri-ang range of locos and rolling stock, and often watches your videos with me ..

That's very interesting Oscar - on my Model Railway - I've also got a 'Hornby Railways' (with a similar 'R' No.) R406 Colour Light Signal like what you have shown @ 27:58. Also I do enjoy when you show your old (Tri-ang) Catalogues!!! @ 39:39 I don't mind looking at the boxes Oscar (I think I've said this before...) The boxes are a part of the Model Railway as well - I always keep my boxes!!! @ 40:14 I've got a R6839A BR (Ex SR) Cattle Wagon No. 53908. @ 44:53 I've got 2 Airfix Models (A Water Tower & A Signal Gantry) both have that very same leaflet in it!!! 😉🙂🚂🚂🚂

Hi Oscar, Beautiful signals and adding another dimension to the layout, great to see them linked up to the points. The eighth edition catalogue is definitely a nostalgic trip down memory lane. Wonderful rummage through your Aladdin’s Cave of boxes brimming with treasure 👏👏 it always inspires me to dig something out that has been hibernating. The reality is ticking other boxes 😀 Gordon

An excellent video here Oscar, while I don’t have proper layout setup yet one thing I would really like to do when I can is add some working signal to it, great overall running session, keep up the great work.

I remember those airfix complaint leaflet. I used them to get more aircraft for the aircraft carrier kits and landing craft for the HMS Fearless model kit!

Thank you Oscar for another wonderful trip back in time especially the growl of the R152 shunter which takes me straight back to my first train set. For Christmas I was given the R152, my brother got a dock shunter and later on we added a Princess, a Hiawatha plus some TC wagons from the local second hand shop, very happy memories.

Good morning Oscar. Another marvellous video evoking memories of the model railway hobby in the 1960s. As a young child, I sometimes struggled with the connection between the Cuneo catalogue covers and the models. Each year the catalogue was religiously purchased, mainly on account of the daughter of Terence Cuneo being at school with Mum. Frustratingly the models were not so easily obtained and required doing jobs and saving up the money.

Good morning great to hear you enjoyed the video. I think in choosing some of Cuneo works over the years as well as some commissions brought a lot of weight to the catalogues not only for his previous and continued work with the railways, but he was in high demand from industry and society at the time not just here in the UK, but globally, bing prolific across a wide range of subjects throughout his career. Thanks again for looking in. Oscar

Another great video Oscar. I "spotted" Oliver Cromwell on one of my many days at Liverpool St station in the late 50s... happy days... Love the colour light signals... I wonder what led specs and resistor values etc that you used to convert them...

The usual great start to Sunday Oscar. Fascinated by the complexity of wiring up the signals to the points. I’m amazed that you have such an Aladdin’s cave of boxed items, but then I’ve been following you for long enough now to know better. Thanks for sharing. Roy.

Morning Roy, I'm sure there are far better ways of wiring up a railway than this but this all makes sense to me and it works! however, there has been a lot of trial and error along the way with lots of fun. All the best. Oscar

Good morning Oscar it's Martin from Hull in the East Riding of Yorkshire again. Just watched your excellent video about your electric lights signalling. You're doing a great job with your signalling and they look great 👍. And it's great to look at the old catalogues, the illustrations look great. Great to see your trains passing your signals, they look great. Well thank you again Oscar for a great video and it's time to have my cup of tea and a toasted tea cake. Have a good week ahead and keep safe Oscar. Will see you next Sunday. 👍🚂

Good Sunday morning and thank you fort the video. A very pleasant start to Sunday with coffee and the catalogue memories with imaginary layout. Drawn out and than the reality of the cost plus room size. A number of years later but in N Gauge. I do enjoy your videos on a Sunday, thanks again.

Hi Oscar - Thanks for Sharing your Passion with us and Keeping these Vintage Items Relevant - The Classic Layouts at Exhibitions seem to have more interest since being educated by your content - I like Hornby and Lima Items from 70/80’s and had a Nice Deal and some great Banter with Dave Angell at Wombourne Railex yesterday, with a Superb Selection of Stock that was a Feast for the Eyes. Many thanks O.P. 👍🏻

The older colour light signals that you are using seem to be a much better scale than the later ones that Hornby made (still make).

I enjoyed that Oscar. I was wondering if one of those double gantry lights would straddle the points on the elevated section. Can the lights turn around or are they fixed on the gantry? Thanks for another great start to Sunday.

Hello Oscar, enjoyed the survey of your wagons very much. Is the track plan complete now? It would be nice to see the track diagram for your layout, along with some dimensions of your railway room, which seems to hold a massive volume of stock. Some of us need to store stuff in our lofts! regards and keep it coming, Paul

At the risk of ruining the suspense, the model weathered to illustrate the article in the First Ten Years booklet was in fact a blue Nellie locomotive as illustrated in factory finish on the next page to the note on "Dirt". The weathered Nellie got two of the eight colour plates in the Ten Years booklet. Both factory condition and weathered version with a weathered WR brake van trailing. I had not heard it was other the Mr Cuneo who did the weathering. It looked quite a cut above any weathering seen in magazines of the time.

PS N Gauge still has the excitement when looking through the storage boxes and trains to run and what locos to pull the trains. Takes years off me apart from when ducking under the layout he he.
