Tri-Cities postal employees busted for reportedly delaying, stealing mail

TRI-CITIES, TN (WJHL) - The Tennessee District of the U.S. Postal Service is a hotbed for mail complaints, according to Office of Inspector General records. Federal records show special agents substantiated some of those complaints locally, suspending, firing and prosecuting employees for mistreating, delaying and even stealing mail.

The problem is that all they get is a slap on the wrist. They need a few years in prison. If there are no heavy consequences then there are more chances of theft of workers. I know for sure one of my carriers stole a package I handed to him.

omg so this is where my package and my neighbors packages probably went. neither one of us got ours and both filed a police report bc we thought they had been stolen out of our mailboxes. guess we will never know. i told anyone who sent me a package from then on to send by ups or fedex, since they will bring it to your door.

Several years back a postal carrier was put in Federal Prison after they found 2 years of mail tossed in his basement. 2 Years worth!!

I avoid using the mail as much as possible. I do all bills by email. I use Fed Ex, UPS, or DHL for packages.

How awful! These people should go to jail fr a good long time ! I can’t believe these scum can get jobs with USPS ! I have lazy people who claim they can’t get to my house , claim they delivered , deliver to the wrong address…etc ! I miss my favorite mail carriers who actually delivered my mail ! I’m so pissed ! They’re returning a package right now . Claiming no suck address . If there’s no such address, why is it on my Informed Delivery dashboard? They didn’t want to get out of their damn car ! And now my plants will be in the mail another week headed back to California. All because some loser won’t get outa the car ! I’m LIVID !

Because your name is on but the address could be wrong. Say you live at 1936 Regan st but the address on mail/packages is 1836 Regan st when there is no 1800 block for Regan at then it’ll get marked as no such address. If the regular recognizes the name of the packages and knows it’s for 1936 they’ll deliver it but if they don’t or if it’s a sub filling in for the regular they’ll rts the package.

I don't send money or gift cards in the mail anymore either I send a card and let the person that's receiving it on the other end knows that the card inside the birthday card or Christmas card is used and cannot be activated cuz there's nothing on it it's just a playing card that way when it is stolen the full at the post office realizes they've been scammed and had because they tried to scam me and I end up handing the person the real deal their gift and so all turns out well except for the thief at the post office
