@@roosterrancher3558 Even if they do get paid, if Tom did not have the right attitude, he would have to pay them more to let him in, assuming they let him in at all. This video really takes me back. 1961 Robins A.F.B., Ga and I'm 14 years old. A friend who is 16, just got his license and gets to drive his Dad's 1957 Oldsmobile, 2 door, white, white interior tons of chrome on the dash, a stiletto gear shift. He tells us the S on the shift pattern meant Super, who knew back then it was second gear. We drive out SAC road ( anyone from Robins during the early sixties know SAC road) a long stretch of blacktop straight out through the swamp to the B-52 base. He stops repeatedly and burns the tires, I remember distinctly the swooshing sound from the exhaust, like a jet engine. I don't remember how fast we drove, but fast!! The fifties and sixties had such great cars, I cherish the times riding in them and owning quite a few. Great video. Tom is a class act, gracious and friendly. I'm not surprised he is welcomed on the property. So sad about Amy's father.

It would be great to see you guys do as mild an engine overhaul as necessary, a brake job, trans service, rear end service, distributor, plugs and wires, then a full detail. A true "sympathetic" restoration, only what is necessary to make it safe and functional, and give it back to the family. It's the perfect crossover with redline rebuilds, you could even bring another youtube'r or two on to assist with work. We will all need proof of this however, in the form of hours of video. I get so many mixed emotions looking at all these wonderful cars. On one side, the cars we're seeing are really awesome, but on the other side a lot of them are in various states of disrepair, and I look at some of these cars and wish they were restored to their former glory and enjoyed. Thank you for the video's, I love looking at all of these cars and dreaming about what it would be like to own one of these pieces of history and drive the wheels off of it. :).

15:19 and 16:24 that yellow car is a Citroen 2CV . That must be a rare car in the US. And that olive green Mercedes looks to me to be a 300 Adenauer, W186 chassis. Much larger then a Ponton.

2CVs have gone up in price a lot in Europe too. They're quite sought after.

That Olds was beautiful! I hope some of those nice cars find good homes and are put back on the road again. Great find!

The 88 J 2 package by it self , was very rare. I had the privilege of seeing one, and could have bought one that had a motor that frozen up. In 57 they were great on the drag strip, THE STORY HAS IT THAT THEY WERE RECORD BREAKERS.

It can't be easy for Amy and her family to see so much of their life being considered junk and hauled away, but if a few cars can get saved and brought back to life maybe it'll at least dull the pain a bit.

I've dealt with that. It's actually can be a relief to let it all go.

I had the pleasure of meeting Tim at Hershey one year and wow what a nice guy! I’m rather height challenged and he is rather tall so we took some pictures and had some laughs, while I still on my toes and he stopped down to get the pics! Tom was there promoting his book, so for those that would like to hear more of Tom’s stories he does have a book out! (Maybe a few books!) But what a cool guy to chat with… He was just as interested in hear of how we rescued our 1927 Buick and looking at pictures of it!
