Great video. I learned so much from this video. In the past, when I used a bigger hook than required for gauge, I never realized it also affects draping.

Thanks Tiffany for this information. I’ll try to use that formula for my crochet projects so I don’t have to unnecessarily frog a project because the calculation is off. Thanks a bunch.

I love this video. I have been looking for something like this for quite awhile. I have been watching this video over and over. I use the one of the same stich books that you use but 500 Crochet Stitches: the ultimate stitch bible is my favorite.

Just curious, would you use less yarn if you go up in hook size?
@CrochetWithTiffany
@CrochetWithTiffany Жыл бұрын
That is a great question. Because you are creating bigger stitches you will be covering more area faster but not necessarily using less yarn. What I would do to test your theory is make 2 small swatches using the exact yarn you want to use and each swatch using the different crochet hook. Make the same size square using the same stitch. Tie off at the end to mark the stop then undo the square and measure them out. This will tell you if there was in fact a difference in the amount of yarn used to cover the exact same space made. I hope this helps! 😊🧶🧡

Hi Tiffany, I am curious, I saw in your bead stitch tutorial that the stitch slants in one direction, and your swatch came out crooked, so you blocked it to fix it. Since you switched up the stitch by doing 2 rows of single crochet for the shawl will this cause the beads to slant in opposite directions each row and eliminate some of the slanting of the project? Also, does the bead stitch look the same from the right and wrong side of the stitch?
@CrochetWithTiffany
@CrochetWithTiffany Жыл бұрын
Hi Tanya! All great questions! So, for me I found that working the Bead Stitch with the new multiple stitch count requirement of a multiple of 2 + 1 where there are actually enough stitch spaces for each stitch I want to make (not working in a turning chain) that seemed to help straighten thing a bit. Also, having that additional row of Sc stitches did seem to help reinforce the positioning. I think the bead stitch looks identical both on the right side and the wrong side. I can't tell a difference. Great question thought!

@@CrochetWithTiffany Thanks so much!! I have been watching many of your videos lately, they are very good. I was wondering if you have any more videos on pattern making, it's something I'm very interested in learning, but I can't find any specific information here on KZbin, for example that software you used to design in video 2. Is there any course I can buy to start making my own designs?

How did she know how much yarn she used in each section? You you completely undo the work and measure that way?
@CrochetWithTiffany
@CrochetWithTiffany Жыл бұрын
Yes, that’s how I do it to get the most accurate dimension for the math. This is also why I just make a small swatch instead of something massive. The process is quicker. 😊❤️🧶
