Ever since I was a kid, I'd drive from Kansas to Utah with my family. Those long car rides were some of the most relaxing, peaceful and sleepy times of my life. I don't get rides like that anymore. Your video made me homesick for it.

@raccordv4 In August, Im taking my e90 M3 on a 6000 mile trip. Ohio to Yellowstone, Glacier Natl Park in Montana, Boise, Salt Lake City, Death Valley, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, Arches National Park, Vail, Denver, and back to Ohio. Why WOULDNT you put an M3 through a drive like that? Im so excited. A dream trip in my dream car.

Looks like a 2001 - 2003.5 M3 to me (the oval mirror gives it away).Right? Nice way to drive 3000+ miles if so. I think you could have made it in 3 minutes and 27 seconds had you let the M3 wind out.

Was wondering myself... Since this is USA, I'd imagine it's actually 29.97 FPS (at least that is what movies/tv are here, 25 is European), but even so, that'd be ~140mph, not even counting all the times they were stopped. Even at 30fps of 10fps (if that makes sense), 1 second of video would be 300secs real time. 3:42-3:47 goes from night to morning, which would be 1800secs real time. Night lasts longer than 30 minutes... 300mins maybe more reasonable, maybe they meant 1 frame every 100 seconds>

How the hell did you drive that fast across country in only 4 minites???????????
@TriangleFilms15 жыл бұрын
No, you're absolutely right. The original footage totaled to about 9 minutes, and 70% of it was flat, monotonous scenery (Kansas, etc). To keep it from dragging, I cut about half of the total content, and kept as much of the fun stuff (cities, mountains) as possible.
@mrgraff4215 жыл бұрын
1.How did you mount the camera? 2. Please post the entire 9-minute version. Including the monotonous stuff and even the entire night. I'd love to see all of it.
@MatthewTurkinSB15 жыл бұрын
Cool. But.... If you grabbed an image every 10 seconds and the video plays them at 30 frames per second, then your four minutes of video correspond to 20 hours of real time. So either you were driving over 120 miles an hour (on average!), or you've cut out at least half of the images. Which is it??? Enquiring minds want to know. Cheers....

@mattack1215 жыл бұрын
I don't get the mathematics behind this video. The video lasts 4:35, that's 275 secs. Assuming 25 fps (?) that's 6875 frames. One exposure every 10 secs that makes 68750 secs total recording time. That's equal to a bit more than 19 hours elapsed. 19 hours for 3050 miles makes a traveling speed of roughly 160 miles/hour? That doesn't work out ... maybe someone can explain?
