This model has a lot going for it. Would love to see a refit or modern redesign for the 25th century. With the back story, this ship sounds like it could be a legacy workhorse. Maybe even giving part of its lineage to the Enterprise-J with its massive indoor nature preserves.

It's more likely it would have been repurposed as a Troop Carrier or sold off from Starfleet service to a privately owned Cruise Line. Interplanetary Tourism was big in the Federation during the lost years.

Again though, that doesn't happen! Canon is clear that all ships are decommissioned and sent to ship yards! So you're 100% incorrect!

Colony Ships are an interesting area of Starfleet rarely seen. As for bacteria and benign viruses being accidentally introduced and becoming a problem on such colonies I am sure this is the main reason the Bio-Filter on Transporters became so prevalent out of necessity.

(And parasites. I remember being annoyed at SNW doing that Aliens-style episode cause I was kinda yelling 'What do you think the Disintegrate' setting is for, guys?! " Then I thought, 'Well, maybe that's why they started adding that feature later?')

I would like to suggest a NX01 Dreadnought, as if the YorkTown was never made, so Starfleet goes insane, builds NX Dreadnought so intense the Romulans decide to go into a 100years of silence in a single battle.

What I like about this design is that the profile itself sort of fits the purpose behind it. It has 'floors' reminiscent of a 4-story apartment block or shared accommodation. Great work as always

Mentioning Kodos/Anton Karidian from "Conscience of the King" already got me excited, I was just thinking of that last night and the ethical discussion in the episode between Spock and McCoy on whether what Kodos did was correct or not. The disease I was thinking of that could become a problem was the disease McCoy was suffering from in "For the World is Hollow and I have Touched the Sky," which was (prior to the episode) terminal until the Enterprise were able to get the asteroid-ship's medical data. The combination of the Constitution/Excelsior hybrid saucer, Excelsior nacelles, and Oberth-style "sled" makes the Arkwright look beautiful although I was impressed with the dual deflectors. It makes the class look like she could also serve as a viable planetary relocation vessel if needing to preserve a dying culture

I like the background and story you gave it. I do always like to see the "boring work" ships in Trek. The design...I guess...I mean it didn't have two Oberth scanning hulls, that's a thing I guess. :D

Such a unique ship design. Love the vid as always. Here’s a question though: with that much firepower on board could it have rivaled or exceeded combat roles that other heavy cruisers could fill? Kind of like the wolf in sheeps clothing situation. Yeah it’s a terraforming ship, but enough firepower to over come combat engagements. Would be interesting to see a combat variant of this ship!

Yes most likely, though given the idea Beta Canon presents of Starfleet having Battleship Fleet Caps, this class was probably a way around that!

It's a good looking ship, also I can see an Arkwright bearing the name "U.S.S. Phanes" or "U.S.S. Janus" given the class's designed purpose. Phanes is the greek god of life and creation, and Janus was his Roman counterpart.

Nice work on this class. I have an idea for a Confederation starship class. This class is a Warstar ( looks like you put a Ambassador class secondary hull onto an Excelsior class warp engines and saucer section and the connecting dorsal of the Constitution Class, with thicker,longer,and wider warp pylons)

Okay, my taste are officially different. When I first saw this ship design, I thought, she's gorgeous. Maybe its my like of unusual designs, but I didn't find anything awful about this one. I also loved the backstory, it filled one of those unsung, and likely will never be seen in canon, functions for a starship and did it well. Awful or not, thank you for making this.

cool idea, tho a bit to spread out, i think a ship with terraforming tech and facilities realy shouldnt be bothered to be a battleship aswell, thats what a fleet and support ships are for. other than that, gotta admit i like the design idea quite a lot, well done ^^

Very unusual design. When you look at it its like you are seeing double. Double forward torpedo bays, double impulse engines, double warp nacelles. But I can see why it would have been used in terraforming missions

I don't think this kitbash is bad, but then again, it's got two navigational deflectors, so that'll bias me... I think you did a great job with the narrative and the explanation for the kitbash! My only objection is that the phaser bank coverage on the ventral side seemed...lacking compared to the dorsal side. I get that the Oberth wasn't heavily armed, but I still feel like adding phaser turrets to the Oberth's mission module would've made sense. (Sorry if there were phaser banks down there, and I missed them!)

How about a kitbashed Excelsior with the neck removed, the engineering section slid forward to the front of the saucer section and the pylons turned upside down. Maybe call it a modified freighter built from the wreck of an Excelsior class?

Sorry you are incorrect! Food Synth and Replicators are 2 different technologies! And food Synthesizers (as replicators weren't invented until the 24th Century) require molucular biomatter! Thus Synthesizers would not solve any food issues!
