@yourshadowgirl50364 жыл бұрын
Right! No one needs unhealthy carbs to start their day
@ashleycook60254 жыл бұрын
@@buckbundy8642 but bc over processed foods contain more calories and you don't become satiated by calories alone,( think a Hershey bar, 214 cal for 39 grams of food vs. a couple of 7" bananas, 210 cal for 237 grams of food ) you end up consuming more calories than you actually realize. That and these foods rarely contain adequate nutrition even for the calories they contain; so, even if you limit yourself to 500 calories in a McD's bacon double cheeseburger not including fries, the amount of food you've consumed is so small you'll be hungry again before the next meal time. And after eating like this for a while, the lack of nutrition starts to cause fatigue, at a minimum, at first so you'll look for other things, sugared /caffeinated drinks, extra snacks, to keep you going, all which add to the problem. Vs. a bacon ranch salad with crispy chicken contains 370 cal (leaving room for a couple tbsp of dressing). But you're not wrong. I used 500 and under cal examples bc I'm a 5'3" female, who would ideally limit myself to aprox 1500-1700 if trying to lose weight, 1700-2000 cal if maintaining, both depending on how active I am/plan to be that day. A taller person/ male could get away with more....so could have a small fry with the burger.. or extra dressing with the salad..still not a soda tho....but again, you're not wrong.

So true, breakfast is one of the least spiced meals in America. Traditionally it is made entirely of things that would grow on a farm in a temperate climate zone, so it lacked spices. Americans eat many more foreign and spiced foods for dinner, but breakfast tends to remain very traditional, coffee is about the most exotic part of it.

@@thomasmccauley6212 first of all, let’s stop calling black people blacks 🥴 Second of all, black people have higher obesity rates due to racism in the medical fields, housing industry, etc. For example, I live in what is called a food desert. There are no grocery stores. You either have to shop at a liquor store for food (literally) or drive 20 minutes away to get fresh food. The problem is, car insurance rates here are super expensive so most people can’t afford to have a car. What’s the solution? Shop at a liquor store. There are way more black communities that are food deserts than white ones, friend. Then look into medical racism and a plethora of other stuff and bam... Seasoned food isn’t killing black people. Racism is. But go ahead and tell yourself whatever you need to in order to feel better about your bland ass cuisine.

@@thomasmccauley6212 I’m black and I used to live in neighborhoods that would be considered by most to be impoverished. Once I got older and moved closer to the suburbs I was literally astonished at the difference in what the grocery stores there had to offer. Low income neighborhoods don’t get even a fraction of the healthy food options in store as the more wealthy ones. I also noticed that even the gas prices were lower in “white” areas. So sure a lot of POC have what would be considered unhealthy diets, but when that’s all you have to eat you can’t really complain.

Middle eastern food is amazing. We have a super good little place in town owned by a family from Jordan that my mom and I absolutely love. Their kufta is heaven. I'd really like to see a middle eastern bakery or sweet shop though; some of my Yemeni clients introduced me to the sweets and pastries they have, and that stuff was to die for. Most Americans have seen baklava, but there were amazing sweet little nests of pastry noodles filled with spiced pistachios, rolled crisp pastry filled with honeyed nuts, layered confections...and the halva candy was divine. There's also an Egyptian almond cake that gets soaked in orange flower syrup (I think it's called basbusa?) that is out of this world. Also that lady was right about not enough seasoning in American food. After trying Middle Eastern, Indian and Thai food, and especially after living around the corner from several of those restaurants for a couple years, I'm ruined. I dump tons of seasoning into everything I cook now. I go through cumin, turmeric, paprika, fennel, chili, garlic, bay, lemongrass, ginger etc so fast now that I had to start growing some of it myself, and the rest I buy in bulk.

The ladies are lovely and the man are very charismatic. Beauty comes from the heart which they have alot of. When get time would love to come and visit the rural villages to learn more

Im not pakistani but I have afghan roots and I believe Jan means the same in our language "soul/body" and is often used as addition to ones name to display love.
