It is now 2022, and people are still listening and appreciating her wonderful gift and talent. She had near perfect pitch, and actually knew how to transition and change keys correctly in her music. She rocked and is still on our hearts and minds. ❤

Unforgettable song, by Cass Elliott, one of the most prodigious interpreters of the mid sixties and early seventies. Indeed the true star of The Mamas and the Mamas. It's a shame she's mostly rembembered because of her excessive weight, instead of her enormous talent. Cheers from a big fan in Ecuador, South America.

It pisses me off that people say that she died because she choked on a sandwich, it really does. People desensitize her death because of her weight and that's terrible. She deserves more than that! She lived an unfair life (minus her wonderful talent and fame), the guy she loved (Danny) cheated with her best friend (Michelle) and it broke up the band. Her weight struggle killed her. The last thing she ever deserved was for her death to be some joke. That's just like making a cancer joke about someone who had cancer and died from it. She was a beautiful girl with a larger than life voice. Plus people called her ugly in comparison to Michelle. I think I'd prefer being bigger like Mama Cass but having a beautiful voice than being frail and having a weak voice like Michelle.
@tosagua11 жыл бұрын
I'm probably the biggest fan Mama Cass has ever had. But why didn't she fight morbid obesity?? I know it's easier said than done, but.... I am also mad as hell because of the unfair and offensive way she was treated. And I know they hurt her. Fortunately we have all these great videos and recordings to remember her by. Regards from Guayaquil, Ecuador, South America.

Jose Salame Good question. I figure they didn't have a keen insight to all the causes at the time. We still don't, but we know there are various factors which can play a role. It could come from emotional and psychological disorders from child abuse, it could come from genetic disposition, it could come from addiction to sugar, it could be from stress, as a matter of fact, if she was abused as a child, she may well have had PTSD, which brings along all sorts of fun stuff with it in the form of anxieties. Sometimes you just need to lay off the carbonated drinks and sweets. Sometimes it's a lot deeper than that.
