If you ask somebody what he/she knows about Hungary, the most common answer you've got is Goulash.
but in Afghanistan the common answer will be Hungarian colorful TV'S.
Although we have several great Hungarian dishes, but this one (Goulash) is the most popular.

Servus from VIenna. Szervusztok! As with many VIennese people I also have Hungarian ancestors and one was a Csikós, one of the famous mounted horse-herdsman . I had already the same suggestions to serve gulash as I thought they would like it. Here in Austria we eat different varieties of this dishes. The dish originates from the Hungarian cattle herdes where they cook it in a bit pot over the fire You have the thicker stew or the thinner soup One Viennese version is cooked with potatoes, onion, garlic, paprika powder - mild or spicy, majoram, caraway, salt , pepper and sausages. Served with a semmel (roll) In japanese you have the umeboshi - salted Japanese plums. There is even a word called umeboshi face -- that is exactly the face Humayoon made when eating the fruit.

I love umeboshi and would love to try the sour plums they were eating. I’ve never seen them before. I wonder if they can be purchased anywhere in the US. I love sour foods! They sound so crunchy and juicy and delicious!!

May God keep Huma and her family safe during these times. May God keep all of Afghanistan safe. I absolutely adore these Tribespeople. I always wish I was there so I can talk with them when they try new things. I have had many versions of Goulash as it is very cheap to make and a good meal to make for a large family. I have not tried those pears though. I can't imagine a sour pear or a sour pear dipped in salt.

I pray that the people from Afghanistan will find a peaceful place to settle down. America should've never taken the troops out of their country. Now these people have to live with constant fear of getting tortured and killed. What the Taliban people do to women is outrages and terrifying. How can human beings be so cruel. A Afghani Husband has no means to defend his wive and children. I break out crying when I read the news about what's happening to these people. What a horrendous way to live. May God protect these innocent people and lead them out of their war torn country. I feel so ashamed and angry that America deserted them. They need our protection now more then ever. They desperately tried to delete any messages on their phone asking for help to get them out. Dear God have mercy on these people. I ask for no more killings in Jesus name, Amen.
