For the Yaoguai tribulation, it really isn't that hard to overcome. Here's a pretty beginner's friendly checklist. 1.) You need a good golden core, around T3 should do. Here's a short guide to T1 Golden Core even at 1st generation: -Cultivator should have, at base (no cultivation) around 40+ Qi Sense -Eat 2 Earth Flux, 1 Purple Junk pill (I always do my first generations without wicked flux because it's unnecessary) -I personally do around 6 of each Red Ginseng and Ganoderma -On the day of breakthrough, season should be really good (3+) -On the day of breakthrough, have a talisman of good mental bonus (around +10 will do), take a purity pill to keep it pristine (important) -The location should have a Qi gathering of at least 600+ or so, no need to overkill -Always use the best weather, keep it up all the way through -Time the breakthrough so it ends in 5 Yin Yang, just before -1. The 5 YinYang should be up majority of the time of breakthrough to the end. It's okay to save scum just to get the timing right. -Learn every manual giving max Qi, Qi Sense, Constitution and Int. Don't bother learning the one which explodes your heart, it's unneeded. If cultivator has less than 40 Qi Sense, T1 Golden Core is doable but difficult for 1st generation. If you have no pristine mental state, T1 Golden Core is doable but difficult for 1st generation. But for our purposes T3 is enough. After Golden Core, breakthrough 1 time and you should have around 40k-80k+ max qi. 2.) The clothes and gears that Ic0n mentioned in this guide. What I usually go for when I want to include Yaoguai in my run is a set of Dragon clothes (you get a chance when you encounter little elf), turtle shell (you get it sometimes from the merchant) and the Taiyi scroll. Everything else is extra, including protection talismans such as Darkarmor. 3.) Protection skill of at least 10 pts. 10 points is reasonable and not that much inspiration. 4.) A shield pill. Trade for it or create it with Alchemy. 5.) A needle. Make it into an artifact and equip it to your Yaoguai. The reason for this is that needles have low Artifact max Qi, which means recharging it after every Tribulation strike will not deplete our Yaoguai's qi reserves. Get those 5 right and you'd survive Yaoguai tribulation easy.

Miscellaneous tip: A primordial talisman law cultivator (very easy law to obtain early if you don't know) can learn to make talismans for resistances towards a specific element starting at Core Shaping. Throwing on one of these element-armor talismans in addition to your darkarmor + your other preparations is a relatively cost effective way to boost trib survival chances. Also, the reason why the low qi-power artifact trick doesn't really work for larger tribulations is that a strong cultivator will likely multiply the actual qi stored by your artifact through their passive bonuses (your 100 qi acupuncture needle might actually have 8000 qi when you equip it), so you're better off just tanking with the barrier as mentioned in the vid.

Thank you, Icon, for sharing this useful video. One thing you didn't mention was to equip the "Secret Codex of Taiyi" that everyone gets right after recovering the orb for the mini-universe. It adds tons of barrier protection, and is a must have piece of gear that I rotate between my disciples whenever they need to face a tribulation. Another thing which could be useful to know is that you can attack tribulations with spells if your disciple has learned any. It's of course even more beneficial to use a QI regeneration pill at that time. Looking forward to more of your ACS videos in the future.

Secret scroll of Taiyi gives a huge boost to the Barrier Power. I've gotten from like 2.85 to 8+ iirc. It probably raises the base Barrier Power value which then gets increased by a ton of percentage modifiers from skills. And like others have said, that determines how much dmg your character can tank per Qi point used. Also, there are useful spells to use during tribulation such as Coagula Shield (Heaven Stealing i think?) and Reversa Flow (that skill which recovers like half your max qi, Six Path?). Good point on the season, i totally forgot about that. Speaking of which, have you gotten to experimenting with Primordial Spiritual Equipments? There are some crazy stuff you can do, besides the basic stat buffs. Such as getting skills from exclusive branches, i.e. learning skills from both branch of seven-slaughter sect even if they are mutually exclusive. Primordial Spirit Attachment might be another good video to go through, as it is not a super late game mechanic; but rather another complicated mechanic without too much explanation.

What I use to think is that this status "transform" you qi into a barrier that then absorbs damage and doesn't let that hit reach your cultivator's health. So, if you have 100k max qi and your Barrier Power is 0.5, it means that you have 50k barrier. After receaving 50k damage, all the subsequent hits will affect the cultivators heath and cause damage.

Ok you asked how barrier power works and my comment got out of hand, so a quick summary of practical stuff than a more detailed breakdown: - Barrier is the amount of damage it takes to reduce your qi by 1. Yes, it starts under 1, yes that does mean you take MORE damage than listed from enemy attacks early on. - Normal breakthrough tribulations are easy with or without artifact and good barrier, just equip your best artifact and protection gear and eat a spirit stone for qi regen. - Yao tribulations are very long but deal very low damage - so either having moderate (1+) barrier and high qi regen (100+ is very safe) with no artifact OR any non-terrible artifact like a needle are viable strategies. - Demigod and attainment tribulations deal high damage and deal it quickly - so regeneration is less important, you want either a higher (2+) barrier with reasonable (several hundred thousand) max qi, OR an extremely high damage artifact build with good artifacts. Doing both is also fine - but qi regen is somewhat less important (though it still helps!) Each tribulation will be stronger than the last, especially so for demigod tribulations, so a bad artifact on a spell or support focused character will absolutely ruin your day and should always be unequipped. - Shendao tribulations or surviving as body cults I won't get into here, just be aware they exist. Now, some more hard info on barrier and artifact qi for anyone who cares. Barrier is listed as (Damage/Qi) in the main battle stats andas mentioned the number of damage points you need to take to reduce qi by one. With damage points referring to the tooltip value on a spell or the artifact power listed someone's stats. This means that yes, having barrier under 1 will make you take HUGE amounts of damage, something new players may have noticed with demonic beasts, who have attacks that directly hit qi as well as internal cores that work similarly to artifacts. If you examine enemy tooltips you'll see that most of them have much higher barrier values than player cultivators in the same state will have without a lot of investment (core formation cultivators have barrier around 1, with beasts having more), which is why you don't notice spells doing far more damage than the tooltip value and only notice them start to do less as you reach golden core and beyond. As to how it is calculated, there are actually THREE stats - base barrier power, barrier power bonus (a percentage, that adds an additional x% of your base stat) and an equipment stat that I don't know the name of that adds the flat amount to the final value. As far as I'm aware most equipment gives the third one like you'd expect, but I believe there are some exceptions. The protection skill adds both a small (.05 I believe) bonus to the base value, and a 10% increase to the bonus multiplier. Unorthodox laws will list either "base" or "bonus" in their tooltip, but orthodox laws often are only described as "improves shield" or "improves barrier" or similar. You can view the exact values for base and bonus in the detailed stats breakdown, I don't know every item in the game off the top of my head. Artifacts, on the other hand, restore up to their max qi with a cost based on a stat called "Artifact Qi Recovery Multiplier" in the official English. It should not be confused with "Qi Recovery Rate" or "Artifact Qi Recovery Rate" or "Qi absorption", which are the qi regeneration stat listed on your qi bar (also affected by the ambient qi in an area), the SPEED at which artifacts restore qi, and the rate at which cultivators can absorb stamina from food respectively. The base Qi Recovery Multiplier is 2.0, meaning that an artifact restores 2 qi for every qi it takes from a cultivator. The only ways to increase this are a single type of Talisman and manuals in Seven Slaughtering Sword. The artifact takes damage equal to the "attack damage" of the tribulation or an enemy artifact every time it attacks a tribulation or artifact (or is attacked by, in the case of artifact-artifact combat). What does all this boil down to? It means that if your artifact has attack power equal to the lower of tribulation damage or max artifact qi in the battle stats, its at WORST exactly the same as a barrier power of 2.0. It will however generally deal and take damage much faster than the tribulation would otherwise - making the tribulation go faster but giving you less time to regen during it. I don't BELIEVE that tribulation element interacts with artifact element, but I could be mistaken on that. Tribulation total damage is exactly equal to the total health, so if your max qi multiplied by your qi barrier is higher than the cloud you're always safe without an artifact. I don't know the exact math as to the counter attack damage inflicted to artifacts but someone on discord estimated about 2% of total qi per hit. Note that shapeshifting tribulations are split into 5 smaller clouds of each element. Thus why having high regen is often the easiest way to pass them, though it will usually take several days without an artifact. Also, a pro tip as a reward for anyone who read through all that - you can actually trigger tribulations on top of the flood dragon's cave to kill it without needing to fight. Very useful on the difficulty setting where it can't be suppressed.

Also, looking more closely at her stats on the video, poor An Wenfeng only had about .5 barrier power so the artifact was probably pretty comparable to fighting without, though it did accelerate her fate lol.

No idea if my deduction is correct, but points per qi sounds to me like a damage to qi point translation. I.e. 1.5 points/qi would mean you negate 1.5 points of damage for every 1 point of qi

Is there any chance of getting a video explaining the use of the Realm Palace? I can't wrap my head around how it works, how to save anything, etc. I don't want to create an uber all-top character. There's thousands of those on the workshop. I have stories in mind and I'd like to create characters to fit the stories. Thanks for the great work you do on this game. I get a little further each time I play but then restart as I discover (and botch) a whole new mechanic.

So, does that mean, if a Yaoguai wants to survive the Tribulation, he HAS to be an inner disciple? Meaning any non-inner disciple stat that a Yaoguai has ultimately becomes pointless (unless you want to fully utilize the Yaoguai with the ultimate fate being death for that character)?
@Ic0nGaming
@Ic0nGaming 3 жыл бұрын
Yes, you got that one right. Lore wise it is like that: Yaoguai aren't meant to be. At least if you ask the gods. So it only makes sense that every non-cultivator Yaoguai will ultimately not able to withstand the Tribulation of Heavens. But you can use your Yaoguai Outer Disciples as insanely powerful workforce with expiry date - cause an Outer Discipled one will transform into a quite harmless animal after failing Tribulation. Cheers =)

How can I survive a tribulation with a physical cultivator? my phisical cultivatos just have 2k true qi and tribulation comes with 1 millon qi damage. thats insane i dont know how to survive this.
@Ic0nGaming
@Ic0nGaming 2 жыл бұрын
The easiest way to survive is not to trigger the tribulation at all. The only guaranteed tribulation physical cultivators have to endure happens when they break through into their last stage (that's when a timer goes off until the next tribulation). Otherwise just keep them at the third level (the one where you can also remold your organs) and keep them there. Easiest way I know of to handle the issue. Beyond that I think you should be able to survive it legit by increasing your true Qi and true Qi regen by A LOT over time before breaking through into the last stage. Keep in mind though that those tribulations will keep coming even after surviving one - even harder than the last one. Hope this'll help! =)

@@GLADIEWEB2023 The Dragon is hard. Most people kill him with a high grade physical cultivator. To give you an idea: You want to max out your dodge on 95% (there's numerous upgrades giving you global dodge %) and pick up as much punching power in your offensive skills as possible. And you want to have as much defense skill and regeneration as possible (the latter being a bit harder than the rest) and then you will eventually do damage to the guy. It is surely possible to crack him with regular Xiandao cultivators, but since the dragon only attacks rather slowly, the 95% global dodge + decent healing/dmg absorption make the Phys Cultivator tank that guy quite decently. Long enough to kill him for sure. The more different body parts you manage to kill from the dragon, the better the loot btw. Good luck, beating the dragon is no easy feat, I haven't made it yet either ;)
