thank you for reviewing these trick beaters. I've been wanting to buy these for a while now but after seeing this, I'm going for the deadblow.

For those who want to get to the juicy playing goto 4:30... I love the sound of these beaters!!! I just upgraded my dw9000 drive shaft to the truck 5.0 and I’m wanting those trick beaters youre using! They sound great and you’ve got some good foot control. I’d love to see you just jam out!
@heavydrumsinc48164 жыл бұрын
Thanks man, I might do that oneday. Yeah a zero lag shaft transforms any pedal!!
@No_Transitory4 жыл бұрын
I just bought the trick 5.0 drive shaft for my DW 9000 and WOW what a difference it made. Those beaters will probably be my next set. The 2nd set of beaters you displayed.

It transforms the pedal doesn't it. Yes the dead blow beaters are the trick beaters to get.

Heavy Drums Inc it makes both the master pedal and slave pedal so much more smooth and the rebound I get makes it easy for me to use my swivel footwork. I’ve tried heel toe and it just doesn’t work for me. But I got the dead blow beaters and they rock it! Heavy enough for me (I had a set of DWSM110 beaters with all weights installed). Even though this feels lighter to beaters that I’m used too the aluminum head makes up for it. I had a click pad on my bass drum I ended up removing for a slug percussion pad. Thanks for this video! It saved me time and money

Edit: I think the 2nd set you used seemed to give you complete control. It just sounded like they are built for speed and power. That speed cobra spring action is the same thing the DW9000 double bass pedal has. I swapped the slave rod to a trick 5.0 and am now looking for a good set of beaters. I love my dw9000 with that trick rod

That's my pedal and those are the beaters I am considering...perfect man!!! Thank you!!!!

After 2 years, how are the beatershafts holding up? Everything still straight? Those Dominator beaters are just the best looking beaters ever.

Yeah man, solid as a rock

The thing that confuses me is the Dead Blow description says they’re designed to minimise rebound. I actually bought some, and I feel like heel/toe doubles a huge struggle with them. I can do decent doubles on plenty of my beaters, but the Trick eats them up. I suppose I am relying and a degree of rebound. It’s a bummer, as the actual THWACK and low end punch delivered by them is probably the best I own from a sonic point of view.
@heavydrumsinc48162 жыл бұрын
Yeah they do seem to impact the rebound for doubles. But maybe try increasing your bass drum head tension slightly to compensate. Or wack on a danmar pad or Gibraltar pad for a solid surface to get some kick back

Or then you cant just play heel toe
@thedruidzmademe666 Жыл бұрын
you might need a slight increase in batter head tension like OP stated but also try stuffing your bass drum a bit more

Great vid and coverage of these beaters. By chance, do you have a link to that "Power Rock Click Pad"? I don't know if they offer it here in the states but I would like to give that a go.

Hi dude , I have bass drum beater that's really nice and want to remove it from the rod , I think they are glued to the rod. Any ideas of how to remove just the beater from the rod to then put it on a longer and newer steel rod ? ✌

I've never done that personally my guy. Maybe get a heat source to it.

I wander how those beaters sound with the Danmar metal patch
@heavydrumsinc48163 жыл бұрын
I've had them. Sound great if your into that glass trigger sound. Down side is the vibrations going back through your pedal shatter your pedal eventually. But yeah these would be something else. I personally prefer the bill Sanders power rock pad.
@TonyVazquez82652 жыл бұрын
They would sound extremely clicky, which could be perfect for deathmetal drummers who want that high click sound without the need for triggers. I have a pair of the Trick Dominator beaters, played them on the Danmar metal pads... amazing punch and click. Just remember that metal beaters against a metal kick pad could wear the Danmar metal pad quickly resulting in dents and/or cracks in the pad. In that case, be prepared to replace the metal pads more often, and keep an eye on the metal beaters as they could also wear out flattened on the impact area of the beater.

i might consider gettin' those beaters because i'm kinda gettin' tired of felt wearing out from a beater
@heavydrumsinc48162 жыл бұрын
I've never enjoyed felt, especially for rock and metal. The pearl quad beaters are really good too. But the trick dead blows or these are awesome. Worth the money

@@heavydrumsinc4816 i see! i would consider metal beaters i originally got my start as a Gospel Chops drummer and those felts always give me tons of durability issues even in tha field i got my start from so i'm more considering metal beaters. i'm hoping my Evans plastic patch holds up to them but then again, i was rockin' EMAD for 16 years on my Pearl Session Custom SMX All Maple Shell kit i had since 2006 and if u ask, yes i have a Evans Plastic Patch, tha felt patches for me in tha past always wore out but those plastic ones took so much of a beating for so many years. also i just replaced my old G2 (Pre-360 versions) with a combo of stock resonant heads for my toms with a newer version of tha G2/G1 combo but from my experience, Pearl has always responded very well with Evans drumheads compared to others but not sayin' Remo is bad, but they can depend on tha drumset but i've always had a easier time tuning Evans heads

Are these better than the sonic hammers?
@heavydrumsinc48164 жыл бұрын
I have had limited experience of those. I'd say 100% yes. Yes if you want ultimate power. Durability with sonic hammers is an issue from the little experience I had.

Hi May I know if it is Good with mesh head for electronic drum kit?
@heavydrumsinc48162 жыл бұрын
The pedals are. But not those beaters. Hit toooo hard. I'd recommend pearl quad beaters with the plastic side used.
