I think you just convinced me to buy these beaters! I emailed DW for more info about their airweight and flyweight beaters, but here’s what they told me: *”For the DWSM101 (Standard Double sided), .35Ibs.* *DWSM110 (Control Beaater), .49Ibs Max.* *DWSM107 (Flyweight), .36Ibs* *DWSM101AIR (Airwieght) .44Ibs.”* I said “wait…the air and flyweight beaters are *heavier* than the stock DW?” I was so confused, but the DW employee said: *”The weight information that I provided was from our system. Not sure what else I could tell you.”* I decided not to risk buying either one of those beaters, since DW themselves couldn’t explain why both the air and fly weight were supposedly heavier according to their database. Having an adjustable beater seems to solve this problem entirely. Thanks for the vid!

man that is awesome and crazy all at the same time!?! Someone just reading the box label and no real world experience with the product?! With no weights these are much lighter than the factory beaters and even to this day (i own four sets now) I adjust them differently! Thanks for watching my video and I'm glad I could help! Youll have to update me once you get them to let me know what you think first hand!

Glad it helped! I have them on 3 kits and just love them. Even life I've adjusted the weights between songs if I'm getting exhausted or whatnot

These are without a doubt my absolute favorite beaters of all time. I have the DW MDD double pedal, and the beaters are simply amazing. The ability to change between a traditional rounded felt, to flat felt, then to flat plastic is so handy. Not to mention the weights you can put into the beater depending on your feel, and if you want more punch from the bass drum. At the end of the day, both the MDD and their beaters are incredible pieces of hardware.

I regret mine. Really disappointed in DW over them. The wide baseplates, the slide/drifting (which pedal blocks just create a fulcrum to teeter on due to their light weight), and the beaters seem too short for the drive range head contact. I've been adjusting everything for months now, but I still feel like I have to fight them. Went back to my 9000's. Admittedly... I was hoping they were basically just 9000's with direct drive. I may even go back to Axis. The MDD hi-hat stand is wonderful, though.

@ After some time with them, I do still love how mine feel since I’ve got them dialed in, but I’m going back to a chain or strap drive if I want to play metal and double bass stuff. For the little double bass I play now it does feel great, but I can’t play too fast on them. They’re still my main pedals since I just love that direct connection to your foot for slower things and fast single pedal stuff. And I have the MDD hi-hat stand as well and it’s magnificent. I’ll probably get some 9000s with the Control Beaters on them when I want to play metal.

I find the DW stock beaters to be a bit too heavy for me. I love the concept of being able to change the beater weight. I need to order a pair of these!

I’m looking for a loud beater. I’ve never played a flat one. I read that it’s very powerful. I have a 15x 16 bd. Thanks !

Great yo enjoy these. They are versatile. My problem is that the rounded felt beater fell apart after moderate use. I decided to stick with Vic Firth felt beaters.
@ZackZweifel4 ай бұрын
That's very unfortunate to hear! Are those the ones that look like a drum stick and a big ball felt beater?
@bbunks4 ай бұрын
There’s one that looks like that, and another that is on a metal rod that you can use flush for a fatter sound or on its side for more attack. And yeah, I was surprised as I’ve had great results with all of the DW gear I own.

I like the self leveling concept. My only concern would be the screw on discs coming loose after a long practice or gig. I'm going to check one out none the less.

I've so far had ZERO issues with any of my two sets that I've had on for a couple of years now. I think with 4 different numbs to lock in place along with the threading it's pretty secure.
@MiNiMeMiniatureDrumCovers2 жыл бұрын
Yeah they don’t move AT ALL once tightened. They screw in but as you tighten the screw part, there are also locking points where they click and lock into place, kinda hard to explain, but when tighten it you can feel it, and the second it clicks into place you will know it doesn’t move. I could tell right when I tightened it before I even played. And has never even gotten slightly loose or came out of locked position. And yet still very easy to tighten and loosen. It’s pretty genius actually. More screw on devices would benefit greatly from this concept. It is simple when you see it. But it works perfectly. Usually you have to tighten really hard and or strip something. There is none of that . Mechanically and functionally these are amazing. And 40 bucks per beater sounds like alot, but when you realize that the stock ones on DW pedals is 20 each, then it is actually pretty crazy all you get more for 20 bucks. night and day. And honestly a perfect product. And for DW it is possibly their fairest priced product also for all it accomplishes. The trick shaft alone is 140.00 , and at 80 for 2 of these beaters it made just as much of a difference. Trick shaft is also amazing and like night and day also. I recommend adding these beaters and the trick shaft to any pedal. Wont regret either of them I promise.

What’s heavier those beaters or the regular 9000 pedal beater ?
@ZackZweifel6 ай бұрын
If you install all 4 weights the Control Beaters are heavier than the standard DW beater
@unclerhombus3 ай бұрын
@@ZackZweifelhow light are the beaters with all 4 removed? A lot lighter than the stock?
@rhythmista7707 Жыл бұрын
I'm looking at this beater and the low boy light daddy, but haven't decided yet. Obviously this beater would go perfectly with my 5000 turbo. It's also a lot cheaper to lighten my pedal throw than buying the dw 9000. 😂

So for me I had horrible luck with the low boy wood beaters. I bought a custom set for my Orange kit and they just tore through bass drum heads left and right. Drove me nuts
