Damn, time flies by so fast, it’s scary. This use to be my jam back in college (seems like 100 years ago lol). The beginning of the video when Trina walked in to the club reminds me so much of when me and my girls use to go clubbing on weekends. We’d gather at somebody’s place, drink, listen to music, talk and laugh, getting dressed to go out for the night, excited about having fun and meeting new people. I loved that feeling of walking into the club together, the bass from the music hits you in the chest and goes right through you, you’re looking around, people watching you as you make your entrance. I miss those days. Gettin tipsy, dancing and having fun. The world is a much different place now. No more all nighters out on the town. Now on the weekends, I’m locked safely inside my apartment, on my couch, pass me my knitting needles and put Law & Order on so I can listen to Jack McCoy arguing with opposing council about hiding evidence and cussing the police out about messing up his case lol. I look back on my youth and smile about the shenanigans me and my friends use to get into. Fun times and good memories. Alright, that’s my rant. Now get off my lawn😑

I remember when I was driving, bar hopping in college and I played this song. the girls that were in the car (white college wannabe 90’s hippies) heard this song, found it comical. their reaction was almost like the time you first heard 80’s and 90’s nwa, 2 live crew. The first time you hear lyrics that push boundaries. The reaction is always: holy shit. This song is legendary.

This was originally recorded in 1997, when Trina aged 19 years, and it was put out one year later in '98 - two years before Trina had a debut album of her own released. Let that sink in... Trina stole the show and was talk of the streets - all of this before she had anything else to her name by 2000.
