Trick or Treat! Gray Wolf Eats a Halloween Pumpkin

Although classified as carnivores, wolves may sometimes follow an omnivorous diet. They can eat meat, eggs - even fruit! This time of year, pumpkins are a special treat for Silas.
Silas is a captive-born gray wolf who resides at the Wolf Conservation Center (WCC), a 501c3 non-profit organization, in South Salem, NY. As an Ambassador wolf, Silas helps teach the public about wolves and their vital role in the environment.

In addition to being adorable, this video is a reminder that wolves are omnivores, not just carnivorous. That said, if Silas could speak to the camera, I'm sure he'd be saying something to the effect of "how do I eat this thing?!"

omnivores don't exist. all carnivores can eat some plants and herbivores do eat meat opportunistically. wolves will eat some berries, cows will eat dying rats.

Wolves are still considered carnivores. An omnivore has a diet that's nearly half meat and half vegetation. Wolves are instead facultative carnivores (can eat plants if necessary), and hypercarnivores (has a diet up to 30% vegetation).
