@rockyraab82909 жыл бұрын
You can do that with just a single o-ring. Just insert the hook through the worm on a slight angle so it goes in one one side of the ring, and them out of the worm passing through the ring.
@lyricderbin11697 жыл бұрын
Rocky Raab the point is to not have the hook in the actual work itself. Just between the oring and the worm. That way your work doesn't rip. Which is the whole point of doing this.

For anyone wondering about running out of the little O-rings, you can visit your local orthodontist and ask for elastic bands. Gives you like 50-75 tiny rubber bands in a pack. Most won't charge but if they do, you could always ask a friend that had braces in the past.

In the video, you can see how using 2 rings results in a lot of pressure on your plastic. That extra pressure can really come into play with the Yamasenko or BPS Stik-Os that I use because they tend to be slightly softer with more diameter than other brands. To compensate, I use #11 O rings instead of the commonly used #10 rings that tend to come with the wacky tools, and it seems to help if you are going to X-cross two rings.

You can do this with the loom bands also. Just put cornstarch on a few of the bands and put them on the worm before you fish the next day and then they will be stiff. Actually works a lot better than o rings in my opinion.

Using "laminate" Senkos eliminates the need for worm saving wacky rings. When you buy your Senkos just look at the label that tells the color and the ones that say "laminate" after the color are the ones I use for wacky rigging. The laminating coating on these worms keep the hook from ripping through the plastic. I keep two kinds of Senkos, laminate and non-laminate. Fish On Brother!
@AustinKenley19938 жыл бұрын
I tried this trick yesterday and it worked really well for hookups. Although, I was using YUM senko worms but the rings seemed to rip through the worm after almost every catch. Any recommendations for stronger worms?

I've been fishing for just a few years, I live in WV on a river. I normally catch small mouth on creature baits and grub type stuff. I found your video because I'm looking to learn how to fish worms in current. I've only used worms a little mostly because I don't know how to use them in current. Every video I see is lake fishing with worms. Is it the same? How hard is it to wacky rig and drag the bottom in current and get the same action and results? or should I just scrap the worms on the river and stick to other methods?

I like your idea of the Double X Ring set-up. We have been wacky rigging for about 6 years. The main problem we have had is, We have actually had LM Bass pull the worm out of the ring without getting hooked. When I reel in my line I find the ring still on the hook. This leads to a frustrating laugh. Thanks for the advice. Now I need open water....
@oregondunegoon72258 жыл бұрын
great video. In my experience this is a good way to rig them to get a better hook set but it leaves the hook totally exposed which can cause you to get snagged pretty easy so i would only use this method in areas with less weeds.keep up the great work though love your vids.
