Had my Trickers and Crockett and Jones both replaced with dianate soles, replaced the original leather ones that needed replacing, back in October. Results more comfortable, no slipping about in wet or frost, and worn both pairs regularly with absolutely minimal wear, especially compared to leather one's. Next time i buy new boot's I'll purchase with dainite soles without doubt

The white soles are more of casual look, not very sophisticated and formal when it comes to dressing up and down. With black soles, this boot has the best of both worlds.

Another neat video and repair. I did struggle a bit with this one, as the audio soundsnlike it might be out of phase? Have you tried using an audio gate for background noise? Basically it'll only activate the audio once it reaches a certain decibel threshold. So it'll block low level noise and only "open the gate" for the level of stuff you want.
@DrawnInk116 күн бұрын
Nice vid Dan, quick question can you take Tricker’s size and resole them completely with a Dainite sole a half size bigger?
@SteveLaston-ji7gv11 ай бұрын
The marshmallow soles are definitely more casual and the Dainites are definitely dressier 6 one, 1/2 a dizen the other
@markspence329511 ай бұрын
Great work, as always. Agree the poster here about the soles, however, personally I’m not fond of such wide welts, and I think that spoils the more formal look. As I say, great workmanship, and you delivered exactly what the customer wanted. Just down to my personal taste, or lack of it I guess.
@Mustangarrett11 ай бұрын
Is stitch spacing a standardized measurement? I'm amazed you where able to make no new holes!
@sheffieldlane576911 ай бұрын
The way to handle unwanted background noise is with a "noise gate". I use them to kill the hum in my high gain guitar effects loop, but I know streamers/podcasters/etc use them.

When stitching the welt is face down and you can't see it. How do you line it up so that the same holes are used? If you adjust the spacing to match will the needle just take the path of least resistance?

@LCOF11 ай бұрын
I wonder if these were bought from the Tricker's Factory sale, at a decent discount. Sometimes I see shoes on sale that are from the model line I like, but in the wrong colour. I've often thought about getting something with a bright sole, or an upper in a lighter colour when I want black, and then change it myself or send them to Tring! That might be a good 'hack' for getting the shoes you want at half the RRP.

Im curious whats the point of letting the glue dry on the cork and mid sole if youre just gonna heat it up again, is this just more of habit or some misconception on it being better for adhesion?
