This definitely makes a difference. I took it up a notch and registered left & right thumbs and index fingers into a single one, and now I can unlock with any of fours fingers more quickly and easily than before. Thanks for the tip.

I couldn't find the optimization list for Samsung Galaxy s20+ and the screen transition didn't change much, but the doing two fingers in one profile significantly improved speeds and helped me avoid the hassle of returning for a different phone. Thank you so much!!!

I just bought myself a samsung S10, and I had the s9 before that and I really missed having my scanner in the back, I still do but mostly because I could pull down the notifications window by swiping in the scanner on the back. anyways, I've been so frustrated with the fingerprint scanner within the screen on this S10, 8/10 times it asked for my pincode instead. I came across this video, and I did as you said, and holy crap, I can't believe how much better and faster it works now. your guide should be the official one on the damn phones. thank, a lot. Now I only miss the old one for the notification window pull down.

Unlocking it with the screen off even works when it's battery optimized, at least on my S10.

yes, but when you turn that off it allows it to run the background so you will feel it much snappier

Oh wow. The one key thing that made the difference for me was to have 1 profile with both left and right thimbs on the one scan. As you said it no longer has to check for 4 profiles. Amazing.

LISTEN HERE! I have a note 10+ and after getting one ui 2.1, the fingerprint scanner was a little bit faster. I was so happy but I was still disappointed. I've tried everything to make it faster and after doing this, it responds faster than lightning!! (The s20 series and note 10 series both have the same fingerprint sensors)

i also found another way to make the fingerprint to work effectively on note 10 . what i did was i first input both thumbs into fingerprint 1. then a new one for left thumb only for fingerprint 2 . and lastly a new one for right thumb only for fingerprint 3. now there is no delay whenever i fingerprint unlock. previously was a mess. it always fail and i had to on and off use the pattern to unlock.

I still get the circle thing even after turning off the transitions. However, that and turning off the battery optimization as described not only sped up the unlock, it also made it more accurate. I had been having problems unlocking taking several tries before it would take my print, but no problems with unlocking apps once the phone was open.

Disabling the animation thing only changes the way it makes the transition between the lockscreen and the homepage

To improve fingerprint sensor recognition: get rid of the basic screen protector that is pre-installed. I installed the Spigen Neo Flex screen protector & noticed a dramatic increase in accuracy when my place a my thumb on the screen.

Works even in the s10e with the side scanner. Damn I was using 4 profile for 1 single finger + 1 for another and was like "wtf this scanner is crappy, it still fails so much times". Now a single profile for 2 fingers... blazing fast, and even more accurate. No idea how it is possible, but thanks! Even the advice to just touch the scanner instead of keeping the finger on for a long time works very well
