I am a useless newbie yet only a week in and only 3 times fought free at the end of training. With watching a couple of videos with this clear breakdown i manage to play 70% instead of trying to muscle 100% and gotten back 2 back submissions. Its insane how studying can help you SO much in Jiu Jitsu and I really am thankful i got it soon that you dont need to plow through 110% for fights in training rather than try to work out techniques. Big journey on the way. Prof. Tom is insane , hope he gets well soon.

Just this one video upped my guard game by 300% literally on my first day after watching it, guillotine chokes and sweeps seem actually possible to hit on a consistent basis if I keep practicing these techniques, starting to learn how to put serious pressure on the blue belts at my MMA school. I cant wait to practice more for my next live roll sessions, Thank you:)

Coach Tom. You are fixing my game. I roll with a variety of guys and your tips and the way you explain it, just works, thank you! I have always loved the set up for the Ezekiel chokes and you have like 10 and the escape from bottom is what I needed to see and the practice for strength on your leg trick rocks too. Ok I better stop, but THANK YOU!

How do u attempt any of this with them standing when you open the guard
@yungus1005 жыл бұрын
MaadLuck I don’t use it as a “posture break” I use it when I’ve already broken their posture and controlling them but I want them to “fall” to a particular side so I can work submissions from there. Agreed, I wouldn’t open my guard to try this whilst they have good posture.
@kevinmcgivern54367 жыл бұрын
Awesome ! Now, how do you escape or defend that posture break/patella pressure?

So I ran across this while in the guard recently. Its really frustrating! My opponent just kept breaking my posture and I had to work really hard to avoid the submish! I did find that once I understood it, I could sprawl out. But it was hard to avoid getting caught in closed guard again if your opponent quickly shoots his legs again. Any suggestions for a better technical counter against this technique?

Question.. what do you do when you go for this but their feet are tight under them and they still have great posture and pressure? Do you go for something else or is there any trick you have to fish at least one side in?

There will always be a need for many techniques to solve problems. Always just ask,. what opportunities are they giving me. I none, get to work and break them down! Happy rolling (-: Tom Davey
@BreezyinFocus5 жыл бұрын
Just a question from someone starting out, when and if you can stretch both legs and you break the opponent's posture would it be a viable and smart move to go for a triangle ( For when you break his posture and he going to brace himself and you push his arm in and you bring your leg up); hopefully that made sense as to what I was trying to ask. Any reply will be greatly appreciated. And awesome videos

I still can't believe that its free, how good of him going that, how can you dislike that? If I was super man, I would look you guys up, all 7 of you, and give you a visit just before you go to bed and ask you, why the dislike ? I write your answer down and just fly off to the next disliker.
