Two things to try with your camera attachment... First, try rotating it so the bar is against the tree and the 1" standoff is not. Attach the closest loop and then rotate the "base" back to vertical. The other thing you could try is a 4mm or 6mm rope with a prussic. I'm actually in the process of making my own camera arm that folds vertically into the base which makes it more compact. The biggest advantage will be so I can also attach a daisy loop and then cam it over like the platform to take up slack before engaging the top bolt.

Instead of the step on your daisy chain you can move your stick up even with the platform.

I one stick also. Just got a Daisy chain as well. Just tried the trucker hitch. Works great! Just tried it in the backyard. Thanks for the tip!

Like the setup and the system you use. I thought, I was the only one using the drill hanger as a bow hanger. Lol

We have a lot of the same exact method and equipment. I don’t 1 stick but use mini sticks with a 3 step moveable aider. I have Jeremy’s camera are as well, the strap is no better than the daisy chain so thinking of going with a can over buckle strap system. Eventually I will do a very similar video and I hope more people do as we can all pick up something from each one. Thanks 👍😎

You should switch from daisy chain to whoopsie slings. Check them out if you don’t know about them and you can make them yourself with all the daisy chain you have. You just have to take the chain out and start over. I promise you would like it a lot better at least for your camera are. It’s with hollow braid rope and Chinese finger type bite

You know what i have not played around with whoopsie daisies at all. I would say 50% of the time that daisy chain set sucks! Sometime sit perfect size and it’s easy peasy but the other half is so frustrating. I actually just switched out do that set up and went back to using a a regular style leveling arm and cam over strap. It’s about 1.5 -2 lbs heavier than the set up in this video but I’m gonna roll with that for a while I think bc of the functionality of the cam over strap and the ease of being able to level it. And I’m using a cannon g50 this year

Nice video you’re right most videos people aren’t wearing all their gear when making videos. What ia at the end of your repelling rope you attached your pack to

A loop of dynaglide. I pierced through the end of the rope with hot nail and then slipped the dynaglyde through.

What camera are you running

The whole thing of hunting in a tree is so you can hide snugged up against the tree. The way you lean away from the tree. Every doe and buck bust you, before you spot them. With your movement. You don't have a chance.

So you've been busted multiple times in a saddle?

any issues with the 8mm in the Mad Rock? any slipping, etc?
@dtrx_outdoors2 жыл бұрын
No I haven't. I know it is 1 mm out of spec but I never had any issues. I just keep in mind that if it were to slip the tag end is always in my other hand and the slight amount of resistance on the tag end will not allow the rope to feed through. It would never be and out of control fall. That's just my two cents.

What is the total weight of your pack?
@dtrx_outdoors3 жыл бұрын
Around 25 lbs . Not counting water food or extra clothes.
@whitetailstorm19673 жыл бұрын
@@dtrx_outdoors seems about right. Mine was 22 and i cut it down to 21 recently. The reason i ask is it looks like its closer to 35. 25 isnt terrible.
@dtrx_outdoors3 жыл бұрын
@@whitetailstorm1967 Yeah it's a little bulky but sure beats hauling in a stand. Now I am wearing my saddle too so that is an other 3-5 lbs or so I'm sure. The nice thing is those frame packs carry 25lbs like its 15lbs in my opinion.
@whitetailstorm19673 жыл бұрын
@@dtrx_outdoors good point. The extra weight of the frame pack probably does hold the load better. Didnt think of that. Looks like you got that system down pretty well. I need to get rid of my platform buckle strap and heavy camera arm base. Another bonus i found was to climb with my tether and leave the repel rope in my pack until i need it to come down. I removed all the bulk off my saddle. The only thing on my saddle is my linemans belt. Seems to help a lot. Have you tried to strap your bow to your pack to pull it up the tree? One less rope dangling as you ascend.
